First time founder: “You need to sign an NDA before I tell you my idea.” Second time founder: “Here’s everything I’ve got. No one’s gonna care until I make it happen anyways. And it’ll take money, years, and probably won’t work the way we expect.”

Couple of things
1.) Why share an idea if the party isn't engaged?
2.) This can still be harmful for end result of your idea, if they bonehead it, it could now become harder to sell, or now you lost a competitive edge.
3). Imagine if MySpace was able to obtain Facebook v early

I used to be like this 🤦♂️ After listening to content like yours, I realized that: 1. More seasoned founders are probably more in love with their idea than mine and are too busy pursuing it 2. Less seasoned founders probably won't be able to take my idea and make it work (and the chances that I could get my idea off the ground were low because I was new too) 3. Even if someone 'steals my idea' and succeeds, the chances of it being a once-in-a-lifetime zero-sum opportunity (like Facebook, which attracted massive investment and dominated its market) are incredibly low

Was circling the parking lot of a Texas Roadhouse the other night and I stopped my car at one of the back windows. I looked into the restaurant and saw a family sitting in a booth laughing and enjoying their dinner. It amazes me to type this but suddenly I was overcome with emotion and felt almost as if I was looking at my ex wife out to eat with our kids and her new husband. Sat there for 30 seconds and then drove home

Genuinely insane and terrifying how when you push yourself towards success theres more people praying on your downfall than rooting for you. Im terrified to open up to anyone or be friends with people cuz you never know who will switch and say anything to make you look bad.
