Our Africa Infrastructure and Capital Projects Lead, Yaw Appiah Lartey, has underscored the need for policymakers, developers and advisors to team up and find a suitable and lasting solution to Ghana’s housing deficit, hovering around 1.8 million. According to him, research has shown that the average Ghanaian worker does not qualify for mortgage; and therefore, to address the country’s housing deficit, there is the need to construct houses that the average Ghanaian can afford. At the just-ended Africa Real Estate Festival, he joined an expert panel to unpack the complexities of Real Estate Financing in Ghana. The discussion centered on the topic, “Real Estate Financing in Ghana: Financing Structures, Bankability Requirements and what Lenders and Investors Look for Before Committing Capital”. #DeloitteGhana #AfricaRealEstate #AREF2026 #impactthatmatters

Centred on the theme “Innovation Meets Identity: Designing Africa’s Next Living Experience”, the festival was officially opened by the Minister for Works and Housing, Gilbert Kenneth Adjei. In his address, the Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to transformative reforms and flagship programmes aimed at advancing Ghana’s housing and real estate sector. He emphasised the repositioning of the National Affordable Housing Programme to facilitate large-scale, mixed-income developments through public-private partnerships, and noted that the District Housing Programme is decentralising housing delivery, empowering every district to contribute to reducing the national housing deficit. #DeloitteGhana #AfricaRealEstate #AREF2026 #impactthatmatters

Our Country Managing Partner, Daniel Kwadwo Owusu, addressed the press and key stakeholders at the launch of the 10th Ghana CEO Summit and Expo on the 20th of May at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra. “The summit, now marking its 10th anniversary, comes at a time when the Ghanaian economy has witnessed significant improvement since the turn of 2025. Inflation has dropped to 3.2% as of the end of March 2026, the cedi has stabilised against the US dollar with a record appreciation over the past year and the debt-to-GDP [Gross Domestic Product] ratio continues to improve", he stated. Additionally, he commended the government for the gains chalked in bringing stability to the economy. The 10th Ghana CEO Summit slated for the 28th of May 2026 will focus on high-level policy dialogue, business case discussions, and a presidential CEO engagement session aimed at aligning government and private sector priorities. As knowledge Partners of the CEO Network Ghana, our experts will contribute deep insights and practical solutions to support sustainable growth across the Ghanaian economy. #impactthatmatters #CEONetwork #DeloitteGhana #GhanaCEOsummit2026
