54 today… and grateful for every lesson that shaped me. 💫
In 54 years, here’s what life has taught me:
You get 3 loves in this life… your first love, your learning love, and your forever soulmate love. Each one teaches you something different—honor the lesson.
Take the picture—and make sure you’re in it. Memories fade, but pictures last forever.
Go to the concert. Laugh loud. Live now.
Celebrate YOU—even if you’re the only one clapping.
It’s okay to cry.
Dance, child… you better shake it! Enjoy the music.
Stop saving outfits—if you bought it, wear it.
Try new foods… you’ll probably like them.
Choose carefully who you have children with… that decision echoes for generations.
Don’t sign anything you don’t understand. Ever.
Play the sport. Compete. Win. And if you lose, learn.
Sit and talk with your grandparents. One day, you’ll wish you had just one more conversation.
Speak up—when something is wrong, or when wrong is happening to you.
Forgiveness is not for them… it’s for you.
Some friendships will become family. Others were only meant for a season—and that’s okay.
Protect your peace like your life depends on it… because it does.
Kids are a gift… but grandparenting? That’s a blessing on another level.
No one will ever love you quite like your parents.
Pay your bills on time. Credit matters.
You can reinvent yourself at any moment—don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
Every saint has a past… and every sinner has a future.
Don’t stay anywhere that keeps you unhappy.
Travel. The world is so much bigger than your zip code.
Go to the doctor. Take care of yourself.
Everyone is not your friend—and that’s okay.
Learn to walk away with dignity.
Surround yourself with people doing better than you… and absorb everything you can.
Learn a trade. Build a skill. A degree doesn’t guarantee success—discipline does.
And through it all… GOD IS ALWAYS WITH ME. 🙏🏾
Cheers to 54 years of lessons, growth, love, and becoming. 🥂
