You obviously take 3 goals a game, but the Suns are inefficient offensively and the underlying numbers overall are worrying. A bad game from King is an absolute zero, vs others who aren’t so beholden to scoreboard impact.
Just an interesting valuation and conundrum.

2026: Ben King, 4.6 SIs, outside the top 200 in the comp.
Averaging nearly 4 scores a game and offering so little impact outside of that, without the ability to create as much space as more mobile KPFs.
Needs a proper CHF partner in crime for the offence to be more functional.

Further to this, Ben King averaging around 7 disposals and 3 marks a game does absolutely nothing for me as a lynchpin for a good team, particularly if there isn’t a hard-working CHF up the ground.
Find it unfathomable that it can bring success, even if he’s winning the Coleman.

By all means, get the cash you can if you’re Amartey, but a club can’t possibly pay $1.2m for a guy averaging 8 disposals a game in this day and age without huge scope to improve on that. Eyes on Ben King with that sentiment too.

Lot of talk on the drop-off in Brisbane’s midfield, which is absolutely deserved, but the defence is seemingly off the hook. Worst 1-on-1 loss rate in the league, all the talls are performing poorly and above their weight role-wise.
Jack Payne is their most important player.

Time for Erasmus and Johnson to get a genuine dynamic midfield opportunity.
Johnson’s hands have been underrated, even when quiet. Vital to the ball movement.
Erasmus is the one you’d love to see use his big body to extract. Hopefully trial that.
