Mallory McMorrow’s Dark Money Ties The Lever reports a dark money network consisting of Majority Democrats, the Bench (with its super PAC, traditional PAC, joint fundraising committee, and 527 nonprofit), the Majority Fund, Searchlight Institute, and Precinct LLC which are all interlinked entities created or heavily influenced by Seth London that share donors, consultants, policy positions, and operations as a coordinated “party within the party.” - Bench-endorsed McMorrow in Michigan Senate primary; her campaign participates in the Bench’s joint fundraising committee. - McMorrow receives direct donations from network billionaires, including Mark Heising; the network itself has received over $300,000 from James and Kathryn Murdoch (Fox News). - McMorrow’s campaign paid Lis Smith ($78k) and Andrew Mamo ($60k), both senior advisers to the Bench and Majority Democrats. - At least one campaign staffer was also paid by Majority Democrats’ hybrid PAC. - McMorrow’s data-center policy mirrored a Searchlight Institute white paper (network think tank funded by the same donors). The groups are backed by billionaire donors (e.g., Mandel $9.3M, Heising, Coxe, Murdochs) and dark money (Bench 527 received ~$2.5M from opaque Democratic nonprofit Our American Future). There is a definite overlap between this network and the Pro-Israel Network that I will post about in a separate post.
