Denison Museum

Today marks the beginning of Black History Month. This month recognizes and celebrates black excellence by supporting African American achievement and contributions 2 many aspects of life, such as art and activism. Robinson showcases themes of black life in America in her work.

Intern Spotlight!😋 Zoe Adam is a Senior from Columbus. She's a Global Commerce major & Spanish minor w/ a concentration in Latin American & Caribbean studies. Zoe is involved w/ the campus Yoga Club & Fitness Club. At the Denison Museum, Zoe is a Social Media & Marketing Intern!

Intern Spotlight✈️ Coco Ogden is a Senior from NYC! She is an Economics Major & a Studio Art Minor. Coco is on the Varsity Squash Team & is in the Equestrian Club. At the Museum, Coco is a Social Media intern. Last summer, she had a marketing internship in Copenhagen. #dennyproud

Seyeong Hanlim is a Poli Sci major & Philosophy & Stu Art minor from Ansan, South Korea. At the Museum, she's an Exhibition & Writing Intern & assists w/ exhibition research & writing for the website. This past summer, she held a solo art exhibit at the Kimhongdo Museum in Ansan!

Happy Bodhi Day! 🎉 This day commemorates enlightenment. We are presenting 2 beautiful Buddha statues in our permanent collection to celebrate! The left is a Buddha from Laos made with wood and gilt paint. On the right is a Buddha from Myanmar, also made with wood and gilt paint.

Chinese shadow puppetry is an ancient theatrical art form. The puppets are typically made of semi-transparent leather plates engraved w/ intricate designs & colored w/ dyes. When lit from behind, these figures cast colorful shadows onto a screen. Which one is your favorite?🤔
