@gowlos60 @SandyofSuffolk That’s because they won’t retire at 60. As of today, the predicted age for me to claim state pension is 68. I was born in 1984. Between now and then the age to claim will be raised so realistically I will be 70+ when I get to retire.

@SandyofSuffolk Gosh, there's some really ignorant, green eyed monster comments from the younger generations on this thread. They obviously think they're never going to reach sixty or retire. It'll come sooner than they think!

My monthly state pension has gone up by 37 quid. But I'm now paying 15 tax on my small private pension. So I'm just over 5 quid a week better off. But I'm not. Because my council tax has gone up 7 quid a month, my water has gone up 10 a month and my energy costs have gone up 8 a month. So I'm worse off. Thanks @Keir_Starmer and @RachelReevesMP 🙄😠

@ZoeTheReturn @SESWater @SuttonCouncil That’s what the council wants. Then they can continue to blame the residents for everything being sent to the incinerator rather than being recycled. They need to make the SDEN business case stack up somehow and blaming residents & EA for their own incompetence is their go to

If @SESWater are going to hike my prices up then @SuttonCouncil can expect the recycling not to be rinsed out. I’m not spending more money with one corrupt organisation to fund another.

@laura_horts I got a notification yesterday that they had been found and returned to the facility thanking me for returning them. I assume they found the lost package and put the items back in to circulation.

@laura_horts I had that a couple of weeks ago. I had to refund and reorder as it was lost in transit. Annoyingly it was 2 separate orders in one delivery that got lost so I had to fight for the 2nd refund as they couldn’t see that attached to the missing package.

The Environment Agency is responsible for enforcing safe air pollution limits at the incinerator in Beddington - but has so far failed to take action on breaches. I pushed the Government to give the regulator teeth.

@Bobby_Dean Who gave permission for the incinerator to be built in the borough knowing the pollution it would create. Who fudged the business case for SDEN to ensure the incinerator was installed? It was the @SuttonLibDems and their councillors. Why blame the EA for your parties failings?

Hey @SESWater can you give us an update? Did any progress get made overnight? Are we looking at hours or days until the water comes back? We are desperate for water and there has been no update from SES in 12 hours.

We have now opened a third bottled water station at West Croft Leisure Centre, Westcroft Road, Carshalton, SM5 2TG. Thank you for your ongoing patience while we continue to resolve this complex fault at our Cheam Water Treatment Works.

@LukeTaylorLD Unfortunately the pic is blurry and unreadable. Have they included the Christmas tree at the top of the high street in Sutton? Be a shame for outer Londoners to miss out this beauty.

This festive season, it's important to remember that Outer London's Christmas landmarks and attractions are just as good as Inner London's! (Yes, I may be a bit biased, but nonetheless!). Great to see TfL's new Xmas map pay homage to Outer London's great attractions this winter

Deep inside you know it. Others do it. They are not different from you. Working hard. Raising their families. But instead of getting weaker & softer with every year they age well. You even know why. Because they know how to tend to their bodies. Moving well, mobilizing their spines, building strength. They learned the hows, the what & the why. You know you need that too. I offer these frameworks to you. Only 6-weeks will kickstart your new lifestyle. Reply with move and I send you all the details.

Reports out that the govt hasn't ruled out ending the 25% single person council tax discount. Clearly this would be a painful hit for single adults and single parent families, but also 1) What about the similar reduction for Severe Medical Impairments? Someone with an SMI doesn't count for council tax purposes, so if as is common they live with another adult, there's an 25% reduction equivalent to the single person reduction. Surely they're not going to end the reduction for these vulnerable people too? 2) Substantial council tax changes shouldn't be done without a rebanding. Up to 400,000 homes are in the wrong band because we still rely in Eng & Scot on a stop-gap temporary valuation done in 1991 to dictate what bands people are in. If such a big change comes, surely there should be even more emphasis on ensuring that people are in the right band and not overpaying.

@LukeTaylorLD Are you going to table a motion to Sutton Council to reject the plans to increase council tax charges for the poorest and most vulnerable residents in the borough?

Rising energy bills. A cost of living crisis. And now the Winter Fuel Allowance being cut. Pensioners in this country deserve better, and I'm sorry that the government just aren't listening to you. The #LibDems will table a motion to reject these plans as soon as we can.

Today was a sad day. When I tell you my inbox was full of residents telling me they were worried about the Winter Fuel Allowance cut, I'm not exaggerating. The #LibDems stood up for you today - but the government just wouldn't listen. So our fight goes on.

Today, I will be voting to protect pensioners. The Winter Fuel Allowance must not be cut. To my constituents who have reached out saying they lie awake at night, worrying about having to decide between heating & food, I want you to know - I hear you, and I'm standing up for you.

@ElectoralCommUK @LibDems So the Sutton Lib Dem’s shouldn’t be in the polling centre asking me for my address before I vote because that’s what they did to me.

@DenningKemp @LibDems Tellers work for candidates and ask to see your poll card so they know who has voted. You don't have to give them any information if you don't want to. Tellers are allowed to be outside your polling station but must not enter it.

Did you know? 🤔💡 Greeters might be present outside your polling stations building to welcome voters and remind them about the voter ID requirement. Greeters aren’t able to prevent anyone from entering a polling station. youtube.com/watch?v=exsjz7… #GeneralElection2024

@SuttonLibDems @LibDems @Bobby_Dean @LukeTaylorLD How about stopping pollution being pumped into the air? Only thing #SLWP Joint Committee has stopped is turning up to the meetings! Never ONCE getting the polluting, poorly managed Incinerator operator to turn up. The last 3 breaches of the @EnvAgency permit hasn't been addressed

Only the @reformparty_uk party is proposing to save the struggling workers money… no tax until you earn over £20,000. It’s weird, I thought Labour were meant to be about the working classes?.. instead they just target the rich, they are spiteful. NOPE 👎🏼
