@JT_Voermann Na ja, seine Antworten werden hier im Clip gar nicht oder extrem verkürzt gezeigt. Er hat eigentlich jede Attacke souverän gekontert. 1 Moderator + 3 Gäste kannten scheinbar die Fragen vorab – trotzdem konnte Lanz Frohnmaier höchstens durch Dazwischenquatschen stoppen.

@DerELM0 @SuperMeatBoy I can assure you that all devs that made games in early '80s or '90s, in the dark of their bedrooms, was thinking about these "political" BS when making games. In our studio, we make racing games: none of us is thinking "politics". Zero. Nada. Nothing. The quantum void.

@DerELM0 The medium as a "whole" bro, has been "made up" in universities. None of the devs in the early ages of videogames ever thought about making the medium "political" per se. Not even the Tetris creator, even if his history is very political. Tetris was about fun. Period.

People that never developed a game in their life, know how games are made. I know many developers and none of them think about "politics" in their games. All they think is "am i having fun in making this game? will the public have fun as i do?". Period.

@adamdived1 Tetris export was regulated by the soviet government. Tetris is about managing endless labor. Tetris mechanics mirror the lived experience and ideology of late-soviet union. It was a cold war export product with cold war imagery and iconography.

@adamdived1 The first games were made in universities as science experiments. You twist my words again. They were not made political. They are political. Tetris was made at the soviet academy of science, where the government controlled entertainment and software distribution.

@adamdived1 The years in the industry dont invalidate academic and structural anylsis. Both practical experience and criticsl study contribute to understanding how media works. Being around in the 70s doesnt mean games were apolitical. They also didnt come from nothing.

@adamdived1 Games didnt emerge out of a vacuum. They were shaped by technology, culture, economics and social norms of their time. They are embedded in the cultural and political context. You didnt notice the politics. Familiar ideology feels invisible.

@adamdived1 Media always reflects the values and assumptiond of its time. Older games are not free of politics, they simply reflected mainstream norms. Knowing devs, doesnt change how media works as a whole.

@DerELM0 You are making games "political". The video-games pioneers, in early '80s or '90s, ever thought about anything you stated. You people are making games "politics", and that's the main reason why, certain games doesn't sell anymore. Politics is everything but fun.

@adamdived1 I did develop more than one game in my life. I am also got a masters degree in Game Studies. You are assuming things. Games should be fun in the first place. I agree. I know also a lot of Devs. They think of both fun and also politics. Because marketing for example.
