@tweethue sieht aus als würden wir in Zukunft getrennte Wege gehen. Ich lasse mich nicht erpressen! Dass es ohne Cloud ging, war Grund überhaupt Geld für das System auszugeben und mit Sicherheit hat das gar nichts zu tun. Das ist schlicht Kundenverarschung!

@tweethue Und nein - ich möchte auch nicht, dass #Philips beobachtet, was ich mit meinen Lampen mache. Das greift extrem in die Privatsphäre ein.

Was Philips Hue @tweethue gerade mit seiner Hue Bridge macht, verbildlicht: Fahrrad verkaufen, ein Jahr später Schloss dran machen und dem Käufer sagen, er bekommt den Schlüssel erst, wenn der Käufer seine Emailadresse, Daten und Informationen über seine Fahrradtouren preisgibt.

@tweethue @Mollzi2011 Ich habe das Produkt gekauft ... haltet euch fest ... WEIL es kein Konto benötigte. Der komplette USP und Kaufgrund fällt jetzt weg. Wäre das direkt am Tag nach dem Kauf so passiert, wäre es Betrug und Täuschung des Kaufinteressenten.

@DerTigges @tweethue Vor allem ist es verlogen. Es wird mal wieder die Mär von der gesteigerten Sicherheit erzählt, ohne sagen zu können, worin die denn liegen soll. Dabei weiß eh jeder, dass es ums Daten sammeln geht.

Philips Hue will soon force users to create a Hue account and sign in to continue to use the app and control the smart lights. The best security model to protect smart devices is to keep them disconnected from the internet, or at least keep this option available. #Privacy

@mysk_co Hello Mysk, thanks for reaching out. Believe us, this change can only benefit the users, when it comes to security. Soon it will indeed be mandatory to have a Hue account in order to control the lights.

@tweethue The Hue app on iOS show a warning "You will have to be connected" (in French). It's a no go.

@tweethue Dear Hue. Please reconsider requiring login to use your system. I understand you want to harvest our data like Google, FB etc., but for me an many others privacy concerned people this a a big step in the wrong direction. This will not urge me to buy more Hue...

Everything I bought for Philips Hue is useless now until I create an account – which I absolutely do not want!

@brian_j_burton We're not limiting the functionalities. A Hue account will become necessary to control your system. Your lights will remain available offline. The account will be used to ensure that you are, in fact, the owner of your Philips Hue system.

@tweethue can I avoid creating an account by not updating the phone app and device firmware? I don't care about old firmware but I do not use any cloud-dependent services in my home. If I have to sign up for an account that's the main benefit of your products gone for me. ☹️
