Oh how I miss Clay Christensen's wisdom. It's easier to hold your principles 100% of the time than 98. His book "How Will You Measure Your Life" is so good. Just had this same conversation with Kid #3 about baseball practice on Sunday.

@stoolpresidente What a bunch of bafoons. How does the CFP selection committee explain the convoluted crap they just pulled today. Clearly different set of rules and criteria apply to each different team? They should all be banned for life from college football - down to the peewee league level.

@RGIII Sadly, I’m not surprised. Fans of every school across the country need to demand more. Otherwise this game we all love will mean less than it ever has.

The way the College Football season shaped up, the CFP Committee had an opportunity to do the most right thing with the smallest backlash. Alabama and BYU getting blown out in their conference championship games opened the door to put both Notre Dame and Miami in. Instead they dropped the ball and punished BYU for losing, didn’t punish Alabama for losing and then flipped Notre Dame and Miami despite neither of them playing a game. None of it makes sense. They did the thing that would give them the most backlash just to have 5 SEC teams in the playoff. That makes everyone question the integrity of the process and rightfully so.

If you're going to penalize a 1-loss Power Conference team for a weak strength of schedule... BYU's SOS is better than Ole Miss and Notre Dame. If you're going to penalize a team for not having the strongest power ratings (which incorporate prior year's history and recruiting rankings)... BYU's FPI is higher than Oklahoma's. If you're going to penalize a team for a non-competitive / bad loss... Alabama lost by 14 to a team with a losing record and Miami lost to two unranked teams. If you're going to use strength-of-record like you indicated you would, BYU's SOR is the second highest of teams 6-12. BYU also (1) made its conference championship game and (2) if you sum up the wins of the teams it has beaten, it is THIRD in the country. It is hard to win games and BYU has beaten a lot of teams with a lot of wins. This. Makes. No. Sense. The @CFBPlayoff should be ashamed of itself. It has literally contorted itself into a pretzel to avoid putting BYU where it should be ranked (somewhere between 6th - 9th). RT to get the info out there. They need to feel pressure.

@boeder_john @RGIII @BYUfootball @OuttaPocketRG3 @Gretegiii That’s not correct. The real name of the Mormon church is actually The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The doctrine of the church is that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and the only way back to our Father in Heaven.

BYU should be in the College Football Playoff. -11-1 in a Power 4 Conference Champ Game -#6 Strength of Record -T-Most wins over teams with a winning record -Better SOS than Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Miami Wins and loses matter. Who you beat matters. Stop persecuting Christians.

Rather than changing our circumstances, our Heavenly Father can change us and our hearts so we then can change our circumstances. This strength to change comes from Jesus Christ—an incredible gift from a loving God.

Huge cover story on AJ with Slam published today. “The funny thing is that we never told him how much money any of the schools were offering,” Ace explains. “We wanted to go about the recruiting process very differently from others. My wife and I decided not to tell him because we didn’t want money to be a factor in his decision. So, he came into my room one day and said, Dad, I’m going to BYU. I said, What?! He repeated, I’m going to BYU. Then I asked him, Why BYU? He goes, KY—Coach Kevin Young. He said, Dad, I want to be a pro. He came from the pros. He coached one of my favorite players, Kevin Durant. He coached D-Book, he coached CP3. AJ reached out to Kevin Durant to ask about KY. Coach brought an analytics staffer from the Suns, he brought the nutritionist from the Suns, the strength and conditioning coach came from the Milwaukee Bucks. He’s like, Dad, I’m going to BYU. “Not only did he not know how much money each school was offering, but he also didn’t even end up picking the school that was offering the most money. There were schools that offered more. If it was about the money, we could’ve just went to BYU and said, Hey, so and so is offering this much more, just to get more money for AJ to come here. All these crazy numbers were being thrown around in the media but people don’t even know—AJ knows now what he got, but people just wanted to speculate.” covers.slamonline.com/aj-dybantsa

NO. 8 MIAMI Strength of Schedule: 54th Strength of Record: 9th Game Control: 19th NO. 12 BOISE STATE SOS: 76th SOR: 15th GC: 17th NO. 13 SMU SOS: 86th SOR: 14th GC: 16th NO. 14 BYU SOS: 53rd SOR: 8th GC: 15th BYU rates highest in every one of these metrics, beat SMU, and is ranked below all three. Pretty clear they don't want to risk two Big 12 teams getting in.

Cougar Nation! If you know of an "LDS" / "Mormon" high school or JUCO player that needs to be looked at by BYU as a scholarship or PWO player... Post their HUDL film below! I'd love to watch their film 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
