I had a great, fun time yesterday at my author meet & greet event at Peninsula Books. Thank you to the awesome store for holding the event and thanks also to everyone who attended. Five lucky readers got a free copy of my book for attending.

I enjoyed the new Special Agent A.X.L. Pendergast novel, Pendergast: The Beginning, by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. This latest adventure serves as the genesis/origins book for the lengthy Special Agent Pendergast book series.

Welcome aboard the Coastal Express! That’s the name of the train in “Sleeper Train,” a horror novella by Jay Bower and John Lynch. The book was a wild, scary ride and it has that campy, over-the-top ’80s horror/slasher feel to it.

I enjoyed Peter Benchley’s novel, “Beast”, which is about a giant squid that terrorizes the British Overseas Territory of Bermuda. The blend of sea horror, thriller, and suspense in a historical setting was entertaining and reminded me of his popular, bestselling book, “Jaws.”

I enjoyed the book, “Alien 3: The Unproduced First Draft Screenplay,” by Pat Cadigan (the screenplay was written by the founder and godfather of cyberpunk, William Gibson). There was and still is a lot of controversy surrounding the actual finished product version of “Alien 3”.

I enjoyed Christa Carmen’s new novel, “How to Fake a Haunting”, a clever, fresh, and original spin on the familiar, overdone haunted house trope. The story revolves around Lainey Taylor, her husband, Callum, and their daughter, Beatrix.

I enjoyed Nicholas Kaufmann’s science fiction/horror novel, “The Mind Worms,” which features series character, Dr. Laura Powell, who shockingly has a dead body wake up on her autopsy table. She and her colleagues on the police force investigate this bizarre incident.

Two thumbs up for James G. Carlson's new collection of dark fiction novellas and short stories, Underwater Typewriter and Other Tales. This collection packed quite a punch with its character driven, poignant, and gory horror stories.

I enjoyed Eric J. Guignard’s new book, A Graveside Gallery: Tales of Ghosts and Dark Matters. It’s a solid collection of ghostly dark fiction and it’s also an eclectic batch of stories that includes various sub genres such as ghost stories, queer fiction, anthropomorphic, etc.

Now that it's official, I'm happy to announce that I got a novelette accepted by Baynam Books Press!

I enjoyed this gothic horror novel by Christa Carmen. It’s an entertaining, suspenseful, and engaging read that’s full of unexpected twists and turns, interesting characters, and intriguing back stories and story arcs.
