The Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, Mehmed V, explains in great detail that he bases his support on the Islamic covenant of aiding fellow Muslims against an invading non-Muslim force. In this case, the British Empire, which they both shared as a common enemy.

In 1917, the Dervish Government received a letter from the Grand Vizier of the Ottoman Empire, Said Ali Pasha. In the letter, Said Ali Pasha reaffirms the Ottomans support of the Dervish cause against the British Empire.

A mid-20th century photo taken of Garaad Jaamac Garaad Cali Garaad Maxamuud, who was the 14th Garaad of the Dhulbahante Garaadate. He reigned supreme in the Sool, Sanaag, Cayn and Doollo (Ethiopia) regions between 1923-1966.

Here is a map that was made on the 28th of April, 1882 that illustrates the Dhulbahante territories in the Karkaar & Sanaag Regions. Naming a minimum of 10 Dhulbahante sub clans. The northernmost settlement is Jid-Ali, down to Fararale, and the most eastern town being Djuddel.

Later on, at the burial ceremony for the fallen Ugandan soldiers, Ambassador Xaashi Cabdalle Xaaji Faarax gave his final remarks by honoring the fallen soldiers in their final moments and by urging President Idi Amin Dada to bury the PFLP members next to their comrades.

Xaashi Cabdalle Xaaji Faarax was a Dhulbahante Ambassador serving Somalia from 1960 all the way to 1991. He is most remembered for his role in the Entebbe Raid of 1976. When pro-Palestinian fighters hijacked a plane filled with Israeli/Jewish Passengers.
