My NFT Journey 🧵 Posting this with a heavy heart. I love this hobby and everything that comes with it, but it is taking up too much of my time and money. I am struggling to keep up with the basic everyday chores like cooking, cleaning, and yard work.

Don't even ask the question. The answer is yes, it's priced in. Think Amazon will beat the next earnings? That's already been priced in. You work at the drive thru for Mickey D's and found out that the burgers are made of human meat? Priced in. You think insiders don't already know that? The market is an all powerful, all encompassing being that knows the very inner workings of your subconscious before you were even born. Your very existence was priced in decades ago when the market was valuing Standard Oil's expected future earnings based on population growth that would lead to your birth, what age you would get a car, how many times you would drive your car every week, how many times you take the bus/train, etc. Anything you can think of has already been priced in, even the things you aren't thinking of. You have no original thoughts. Your consciousness is just an illusion, a product of the omniscent market. Free will is a myth. The market sees all, knows all and will be there from the beginning of time until the end of the universe (the market has already priced in the heat death of the universe). So please, before you make a post on wsb asking whether AAPL has priced in earpods 11 sales or whatever, know that it has already been priced in and don't ask such a dumb fucking question again.

I have got some big news fam. This is probably the most personal post I have written on this app. A chapter of my life has just turned. After 20 years of a productive career in traditional finance, I have decided to dedicate most of my time to web3. I am not ready to share my full name yet, as I still need to unwind two decades spent operating in one of the most regulated and rigid industries out there. But it is time to tell you more about myself and what has been driving this account from day one. As many of you know, I was born in France, but I moved to London right after university to start my career in finance. London is also where I met the love of my life, and it has been home for the past 20 years. I built my career and reputation as a structurer in the Markets division of a top 5 investment bank. If you are not familiar with what a structurer does, think of it as a professional LEGO builder. One of the bank’s jobs is to deliver complex and bespoke financial products to institutional clients using a mix of standard market tools, while navigating legal, regulatory, and accounting constraints. My edge was combining those skills to deliver creative products fast and clean. More recently, I was given the chance to build a brand new business inside the bank. I hired more than 100 people and took that team from zero to roughly $1bn in revenue in seven years. It was an incredible ride, rewarding financially, but even more so personally. I got to shape the culture and mindset of an entire division, which will always be something I am proud of. But there was a catch. Since October 2021, when I bought my first NFT on MetaMask, my mind started to drift. I became less interested in the spreadsheets, the credit risk memos, the bureaucracy. I fell in love with web3 and never came back, even after making plenty of mistakes and losing money early on. The truth is, web3 sits at the intersection of technology, finance, and culture, and it became harder and harder for me to stay at an institution that moves slowly and looks backward. So here we are. I am excited. I am scared. But I know deep down that web3 is where I need to take my energy and creativity next. I am walking away from the comfort of a big salary and a massive corporate safety net, but I am not walking away from purpose. I want to build something that matters. Something that moves the needle. And honestly, is there a more exciting place to build right now than web3? I doubt it. You will see more of me here. I will be joining more Spaces, putting my voice out there, and getting more involved with this community. I have “a particular set of skills”, and it is time to see how it can be applied to this world. Let’s face it, web3 is in dire need of new leadership, and I am excited to throw my hat in the ring. I have made incredible friends in this space already and I cannot wait to do more with all of you. Some big announcements are coming soon. Stay tuned.
