@DesertAndReef @AcademicChatter It absolutely happens. A lot of folks I have worked w at 2 diff regional state PUIs did not have post docs. I postdocd for 8mo and then decided to leave so applied for TT jobs. So while I had a postdoc on my CV, nothing had come of it other than field and lab work

According to a neighbor women make MORE than men in academia. I about lost my mind correcting him then went into how it is even worse for women of color. He was not ready.
