@ovais_docmed Thanks. Am familiar with your review. It’s comprehensive and an important topic. Our lab has found both neurons and cancer cells to be highly restricted for apoptosis. A finding relevant to the inverse correlation between cancer and neurodegeneration.

Our latest paper on neuronal resilience. The apoptotic pathway is activated as a transient pulse in neurons even with continuous apoptotic stimulus. Neurons prepare for survival even when they activate apoptotic signaling. Congrats Keeley and others!!

In a new paper in @commsbio, researchers have shown that a small RNA molecule drives the natural process of aging. This is the first time that miR-29 has been proven to play a direct role in the aging process.
