FOX Sports (@FOXSports) just dropped its biggest World Cup campaign yet. The network debuted “Miracle,” a hero spot imagining the unthinkable: the US Men's National Team lifting the trophy on home soil, set to Elvis Presley's “The Impossible Dream.” Tom Brady, Zlatan Ibrahimović, and current USMNT players all feature, closing with one line from Mike Eruzione: "You don't believe in miracles?" FOX isn't selling coverage. They're selling a possibility. By anchoring the campaign in a shared national fantasy, they've given 6 billion potential viewers a reason to care before a single ball is kicked. Miranda Priestly doesn’t do partnerships. But in 2026, every major brand does, and they all want a seat at the Runway table. Twenty years after the original left its mark on pop culture, ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ is becoming one of the hottest marketing platforms of the year. Starbucks (@Starbucks) put character-inspired drinks in the app. Diet Coke (@DietCoke) got slim cans and a bespoke ad inside the Runway offices. Samsung (@Samsung) dropped the Galaxy S26 Ultra into the actual storyline. Google (@Google) recreated the Runway closet at the premiere and let guests try outfits with AI in real time. Every brand found a different door in the same cultural moment. But only one execution made the product feel like it genuinely belonged to the story, not just beside it. Our CEO @simon_davis the @designrushmag Podcast: Most AI content is ROI negative. AI gets you 80% of the way there, but then you spend hours fixing the last 20%. The problem is that last 20% eats back all the time the AI was supposed to save you. Watch the full conversation with Kia Johnson: youtube.com/watch?v=6xnnv7…

Paramount+ (@paramountplus) is redesigning its app around short-form video. Not just trailers, but a scrollable feed built to make people open the app more often, the same way they already do on TikTok or Instagram. It’s a big shift, and not just for Paramount. Netflix and Disney+ are moving in a similar direction, which says a lot about where streaming platforms believe attention is heading. The question is whether users actually wantsocial-style behavior inside a paid streaming app, or whether that format works better on platforms that already own the habit. For brands, this could open new inventory and new contexts for short-form placements, but only if usage catches up. Read the full breakdown here: news.designrush.com/paramount-plus…

Tim Cook’s exit closes one of the most important leadership chapters in modern business. After taking over from Steve Jobs, he scaled Apple (@Apple) into a $4 trillion company. Now the company is handing the CEO role to John Ternus, a hardware leader stepping in at a time when the next defining product category is still unclear. Apple has always relied on flagship products to carry the brand. So, the real question is, can Apple maintain the same level of relevance, trust, and momentum as leadership changes hands? Pizza Hut (@pizzahut) just turned one product detail into a 4/20 campaign. Its new “Baked at 420” campaign, created by Leo Toronto, uses a real part of the pizza-making process as the hook: Pizza Hut pizzas are typically baked at around 420 degrees or higher. Instead of forcing its way into the 4/20 conversation, Pizza Hut found a natural connection within its own product. The result is simple, timely, and easy to understand across billboards and social media. Read the trending brand news here: news.designrush.com/pizza-hut-bake…

Pinterest (@Pinterest) is telling users to log off. Its new brand campaign, “How Did They Do It?”, uses real employee home movies and family archive footage from the 1950s to the 1980s to show life before smartphones. The message is simple. The best thing you can find online is a reason to go offline. Pinterest is making a risky but timely bet: that digital wellbeing can become a competitive advantage. It is backing that message with actual moves, from private-only accounts for minors to phone-free activations at Coachella and public advocacy around youth social media use. If you've used AI to make content, you've likely played the Prompt Lottery. You write a prompt, hit generate, and pray. 50 tries later you might get something usable. I got into all of this with @KiaJohnson1 on the @designrushmag Podcast. We covered the 25M character problem that started SecretSauce, why impressive AI demos fall apart in real workflows, and what brand teams need to get right before they scale any of this. Thanks Kia, great conversation. Full episode: youtube.com/watch?v=6xnnv7…
