No raids. No investigations. Zero questions about why their 8th Gym Leader keeps disappearing for “business trips.” • The Cover-Up: After a 10-year-old finally does their job and defeats him at the Viridian Gym, Giovanni simply walks away. The League doesn’t launch a manhunt, freeze his assets, or start a public inquiry. They just let him vanish, and quietly hand his empty Gym over to a teenager to sweep the entire scandal under the rug. • The Real Motive: Giovanni is one of the richest men in Kanto. He funds half the region’s infrastructure, research, and even the League itself. Shutting him down would crash the economy. The League needs a “controlled villain”, someone powerful enough to keep crime organized and give young trainers a clear enemy to fight. The League isn’t blind. They’re complicit. Or maybe this is just a random string of coincidences... Or is it? 🤔
