Resident Evil has completely discarded its identity as survival horror. It's not just about difficulty, it's the entire design and form. Without the cribbed story elements, nu-RE would be unrecognizable as being the same kind of game. Not true of the original RE4 or even 5.

@revenant_MMXX I never quite got the complains on the recent RE Remakes. Aside from 3 they're all been bangers, and they're usually made harder too on the real difficulties. I still play the older games all the time. As far as I'm concerned getting a remake is just having two cakes to eat.
