Likewise, the power of the Christian journey and its victory could not be exemplified more clearly than in the empty tomb, and the Risen Lord, Who conquered all and did the impossible, not for Himself, because He is above our realm, but for us.” A blessed Feast of the Glorious Resurrection to all!

Pleased to receive His Excellency @Swelamiat, Ambassador of Egypt to the Court of Saint James, accompanied by his diplomatic delegation, at @CopticCentreUK today to offer greetings on the Feast of the Resurrection, as has been the custom here in London for many years, and in Egypt for even longer. Bright Saturday candle-lit Liturgy in the early hours of this morning at Saint George @CopticCathedral, with the icon of our Lord in the tomb symbolically buried in rose petals, to be revealed during the Resurrection Enactment at this evenings Resurrection Liturgy. Imagery is not only important to the eyes, but it enriches the imagination and experience of the heart and the spirit.

Another wonderful Evening Pascha along my #1000MileHolyWeek2026, tonight at @TheSanctuaryCDL for our annual @StPaulMinistry Holy Week Service, reflecting on “Our King, both loved and betrayed”. Even betrayal cannot derail the divine purpose. Christ remains sovereign and committed to our salvation because “The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of Him” (Matthew 26:24). Saint Athanasius reiterates this by saying that “He permitted what was done against Him, that through it He might accomplish what was for us”.

My #1000MileHolyWeek2026 took me yesterday firstly to the wonderful Saint Mary and Saint Mina community in New Malden, Southwest London, for the afternoon Holy Week Pascha Service at @Malden_St, reflecting on “Our King Who comes to reclaim His temple” “Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple” (Matthew 21:12–13) Our Lord cleanses what is His, because the temples of our hearts must become again once again what they were meant to be. “The zeal of the Lord burns against what corrupts the soul, because He loves the soul.” Augustine

A long and most wonderful day of ministry started: ▪️With welcoming young Mariam to our family through her Baptism at Saint George @CopticCathedral. ▪️Then to Windsor and the iconic Holy Trinity Garrison Church for a joyous Liturgy with the Saint Maurice and Saint Verena Community. ▪️After that, to @StMarksLondon the graduation of our most recent SPEC Discipleship cohort. ▪️And finally, to @SMPKLondon for the completion of our @CopticDiocese Marriage Preparation Course. I am entirely indebted to the faithful team of clergy and laity we have throughout the Diocese who serve selflessly within every strand of our ministries that hope to support the broadest representation of our communities at every level.

Today started wonderfully as we welcomed young Maariam into the family through her Baptism at @SMAAMchurch. “Do you have an infant child? Incredible to think that 14 years ago, the concept of Saint Paul Ministry was a mere dream, but now, after 14 years, it has developed into a wonderfully warm and vibrant community, providing a welcoming and accessible space in its new home at @TheSanctuaryCDL. Today’s beautiful Liturgy was followed by the customary cake-cutting, and time for our budding artists to be hard at work during their Sunday School class.

Pleased to host yesterday’s gathering at @TheSanctuaryCDL with an opportunity to reflect on the immigration debate through the lived experience and wisdom of migrant‑majority Churches across the UK. These communities, shaped by journeys of faith, resilience and hope offered a depth of insight too often missing from our national conversations. Honoured to be panel with Evangelical Alliance’s Alicia Edmund, @Girma_Bishaw of the @UKGratitude Initiative, and @SeenUnseenMag’s Bishop @GTomlin, moderated by @LICCltd’s @PaulTWoolley. The discussion brought clarity, compassion, and a renewed commitment to honouring the dignity of every person. It was encouraging to witness such a constructive and hope‑filled exchange, rooted in our shared responsibility to build a more humane and understanding society. “We cannot, for the sake of trying to correct what is an erroneous understanding of nationalism, discount the emotions, feelings, understanding and expectations of people who may have a different perspective.
