Kamusala Alphat Namungarwe from Iganga District is a household beneficiary who transitioned from charcoal to clean cooking through the RBF programme. Previously relying heavily on charcoal, he now uses @WesGasUganda, which he acquired at a 40% subsidized cost.
Cooking has become faster, cleaner and more convenient, allowing him to cook indoors without smoke while significantly reducing his charcoal consumption and costs. He first learned about the solution through a market activation and was able to get started with just a National ID and a small initial payment.
Under the programme, LPG cans are subsidized by 40%, making clean cooking solutions more affordable for households. You can access these solutions through approved Energy Service Companies participating in the project 👉 ueccc.or.ug/wp-content/upl…
He appreciates UECCC’s support in making clean cooking solutions more accessible and affordable.
Kamusala Alphat’s cooking experience improved after acquiring subsidized cooking gas from WES Gas and @UECCC1. Meals are now prepared faster and with ease unlike before when he depended on charcoal and firewood.
He is one of the beneficiaries of the RBF program that provides clean and environmentally friendly cooking solutions.

Before clean cooking, life was harder for Namugaba Harriet. Cooking took more time, cost more money & relied on traditional fuels.
Through the Results-Based Financing (RBF) Programme, she accessed an Electric Pressure Cooker at a 60% subsidized cost, making clean cooking more affordable.
Now, her meals are ready faster, energy costs are lower & her home is more efficient & convenient.
Harriet appreciates @UECCC1 for making clean energy accessible & improving everyday life.

“Before acquiring the Electric Pressure Cooker, life was quite difficult… I used to spend a lot of money.”
For Namugaya Harriet in Jinja City, cooking was once costly, time-consuming and inefficient. Today, that story has changed.
Through the Results-Based Financing (RBF) programme she accessed an Electric Pressure Cooker (EPC) at a 60% o subsidized cost.
“There has been a tremendous change in my household… cooking is now much faster and more cost-effective.”
The EPC is not only efficient but also environmentally friendly, reducing harmful indoor emissions and improving everyday living conditions.
Harriet expresses her gratitude to UECCC and its partners for making clean cooking solutions more accessible and affordable to households like hers.
More Ugandans are making the switch to clean, efficient energy through the RBF programme.
Last week, the UECCC Managing Director @rbaguma608 met with Dr. Lisa Leinert from @vitol_oil and the Managing Director @VivoEnergyUg Ms. Joanita Mukasa. Vivo Energy has already delivered nearly 40% of Uganda’s clean cooking target under Electricity Access Scaleup Project (EASP).
Discussions focused on partnering for carbon credits and tackling illegal LPG cylinder refillers to accelerate access to clean and safe cooking solutions.
@vitol_oil , through @VivoEnergyUg is investing heavily in Uganda’s LPG distribution as part of a broader clean cooking initiative across Africa, while also linking these efforts to carbon credit projects that incentivize reduced reliance on biomass fuels.
