The Philippines is controlled by political families who are loyal to the US, under this regime, the Filipinos cannot choose their own destiny.
Duterte was the odd one out, even though he is also from a feudal political family in Mindanao, and look at where he is today, on trial for standing up to the US.

The difference is, those 2 countries do not seek to bring an outside power into this dispute, unlike the Philippines.
Filipinos needs to look around you, look at the slums and poverty, the exploited children and abandoned half-white children and their single mothers.
The US is your enemy, kick them out and we can help.
