@GS_VCactivist Since we categorise startups I put SaaS into illegal category, because it is too generic and tells basically nothing.

@DevMatyas28516 In a way true, any service’s business model stands on same ground. Here diligence is on product, not on business model.

Lot of VC funds who were major SAAS investors are now becoming AI and robotics investor because they missed the first wave, and they do not have workforce talent to do stringent due diligence on important science questions. This is what the biggest bubble is. As they have fund and they are under a timeline to deploy.

We ranked all 369 VC firms in France by how their portfolios actually performed. Not reputation, not who paid. The median score was 63 out of 110. The top 5: @innovacom, 101/110 France's oldest VC. Backing founders since 1988, with 20+ IPOs behind it. @AnderaPartners, 99/110 4.5 billion euros in play. Just sold Amolyt to AstraZeneca. @aurigapartners, 99/110 Early in Neolane, later bought by Adobe, and in unicorn Nexthink. @RaiseImpact, 98/110 Gives half its team profits to fund young founders. @Eiffel, 98/110 Powering the energy transition, with over 5,000 green assets across Europe. Same method for every fund. No self-reported data. Full ranking at brouky.tech/vc-rankings/fr…

@jayyeh Czech republic :) we monitor vc and the trend is very weird. There is also slow progression of the companies that get the funding, it is mostly bridge rounds, not next rounds.

tip for vcs: be easier to discover. i know it's cool to be mysterious on your website. i know linkedin can feel cringe. and i get the worry that being easier to find just means more bad deals getting thrown into your inbox. but honestly, the upside is way bigger than that cost. i advise a few companies at a time, and one of the main ways i help is around fundraising (shocker i know). sometimes that work is with the narrative, sometimes it’s strategy or process. but one workstream that ALWAYS comes up is figuring out which firms are actually worth talking to. btw...i only use my limited advisor slots on awesome founders. these are really good companies who can get meetings. if they're later stage, they've got strong metrics, if they're early... fantastic experience & resumes, the kind of startups most investors want to see. part of the list we build is vcs i know and like. the other part is looking through the founder’s 1st and 2nd degree connections on linkedin to see who might be a natural fit. maybe that's a surprise? this is where i keep getting annoyed. it is way too hard to tell what a lot of investors actually do. so freaking annoying... sometimes you can’t even find the firm. then you get to the website and still can’t tell what they invest in, what stage they like, whether they lead, or what size check they write. other times the linkedin headline is just something coy like “Investor and AI enthusiast,” which tells you basically nothing. the result is that amazing founders end up skipping over investors who might actually be great fits, just because the information isn’t easy to find. and that means the big branded firms keep getting more of the good deals, while lesser-known investors make themselves harder to discover than they need to be. so my advice: put more real information on your website and linkedin. say what you invest in, what stage you like, whether you lead, and if you’re comfortable, the kind of checks you usually write. yes, i understand being specific might mean missing a few weird edge-case deals. that’s fine. have some conviction and define your strategy. btw, you can always update it later. linkedin might be cringe, but it’s still the best dataset founders have for figuring out who they’re connected to and who might be worth reaching out to. instead of “investor and ai enthusiast,” try something like: “Partner @AdamantVentures, leading Seed - Series B Physical AI deals ” (bonus pts if you add check size) yeah, maybe you’ll get more junk in your inbox. just ignore them like you do so many other emails. the upside is you’ll also make it a lot easier for the right founders, with awesome warm paths to you, to actually find you. you’re welcome.
