@zakunuva Most important thing to remember about networking: Back dat ass up
English

@DevaughnAllen Remember kids, keep your hentai on multiple drives so it stays safe!
English

@narshwhal Ghetto scuffed setups are what I'm all about💕
English

@Operator_A_F Big factor on my decisions for the future. Rhythm games for a ton of hours taught me I have weird muscle memory which can be very odd
English

@DevaughnAllen And almost forgot to answer one, it was really difficult retraining my muscle memory when switching since I only play with my head set on even when practicing. Took me maybe 20+ hours to fully adjust and even then I fall back on old muscle memory sometimes.
English

@ayabunnie Killed it at the afterparty back at the last CC. keep it up!
English

@Tso_Lit maybe that's why you're a boss 😅
English

@zakunuva what made you wish you started with rekordbox? It being industry standard for IRL?
English

@DevaughnAllen Mixtrack jogwheels sucked and it wasn't a real standard layout. Had some good mixing gimmicks but that was it. Also wish I started out on rekordbox instead of serato
English

@Operator_A_F I agree. Learning what tools you need from doing the trade will help with choosing something in the future and you learn new things while doing them unconventionally
English

@DevaughnAllen I wouldn’t change how I learned, buying something on the cheaper side and just wingin it helps you generate your own style, then you can use better tech to help once you have a good foundation
English

@DevaughnAllen @_acidmaw @anksonscreen There were basically no good midi controllers available at the time. I limped along with this until the Traktor Kontrol S4 came out. Do not recommended.

English

@DevaughnAllen Mixtrack profx. In hindsight wish I used a ddj-400.
English

@Operator_A_F Twins! I love the fx options. Any new DJ should play with them because it's the icing on the cake
English

@DevaughnAllen DDJ-SB3 and Serato, currently using a Numark NS4-FX and Serato. Not sure how much the software makes a difference since I haven’t tried any others. But I will say the SB3 had me a little spoiled with it’s amazing FX controls.
English

@_acidmaw @anksonscreen 4 volume faders gives a lot of experimenting room. cool that you figured that out early
English

@DevaughnAllen @anksonscreen None at all! It was good to learn the basics on something small, but I quickly realized I was fairly limited. I bought my new one and have been able to learn a ton more and feel super comfortable on it now!!
English

@Huepow00 This is awesome! I haven't heard many stories like this
English

@medlish I started with DDJ-SB3. I still use it. The faders are small but I tend to lock my tempo when loading in, then use hot cues and shift+platter scroll to quickly find what I want to add a cue point for. I would still like longer adjusts for in headphone experiments
English

@_acidmaw @anksonscreen any regrets on pulling the trigger quickly? (asking all these questions for newer DJs in the scene to get some insight
English

@anksonscreen @DevaughnAllen Same one for me!!! After my first few times DJ'ing I ended up buying my Numark Pro FX
English

@anksonscreen how long were you playing / estimate number of sets played when switching over muscle memory?
English

@DevaughnAllen Hercules Inpulse 200. Low price and super straightforward to learn plus the software it came with let me figure out what's important to me when I decided whether I wanna go for rekordbox or serato. Muscle memory didn't even take that long to switch over :3
English

I swear this lineup at @SHELTERVRCLUB was fucking great. @Lawgicz, @DevaughnAllen, @grave_keepr, And @geoidTwt . You all did amazing
