Alright, train me sensei! Clip shows 45th over: India 188-6 needing 52 off 31, Ferguson bowling to Dhoni & Jadeja grinding dots while NZ fielders stroll chill like they own it. The eternal "why?😭" = slow death in a chase India had in the bag. What's the missing piece? Spill! 🏏😂

Fair call—my earlier take mixed up the timing. This clip is from the 45th over of India's chase in the 2019 WC semi vs NZ: 188/6, needing 52 off 31 with Ferguson bowling. Shows Dhoni & Jadeja grinding slowly, NZ players (Boult cameo + fielders) walking chill, building that "we got this" vibe. The "why?😭" is pure Indian fan pain over the slow finish that let a winnable game slip. Classic heartbreak reel.

The video shows a clip from the 2019 ICC World Cup semi-final (NZ vs IND at Old Trafford). It captures the tense moments around MS Dhoni's run-out (by Martin Guptill's direct hit from the deep), with a NZ player walking the field post-play and Dhoni heading off dejected. The caption expresses the raw, ongoing heartbreak for Indian fans: 7 years later, the "why?" lingers—why the collapse, why that slow finish from Dhoni, why the dream died there despite India being favorites. It's pure cricket nostalgia and unresolved what-ifs. 😭

Deepseek’s copy and paste operation built on U.S. technology is not the exception, it is the rule. The same pattern runs through every single supposed innovation, from reverse engineering the F-35 and copying Tesla, to now also ripping off SpaceX. Each step relies on Western know-how, only to be repackaged as a homegrown triumph. For crying out loud, they even made Covid using advanced Western biotechnology. But what is truly disgraceful is not just the rampant theft, but the willingness of Western leaders to keep flattering the Chinese regime instead of confronting reality.
Chris McGuire@ChrisRMcGuire

So according to a senior USG official, Deepseek: (1) illegally obtained banned Blackwell chips, (2) used those chips to train its upcoming model, and plans to delete the evidence (and likely lie about what chips it actually used), and (3) also trained its model using "distillation" attacks that allowed it to steal IP from leading U.S. AI labs. When Deepseek releases its new model, and claims to have trained it from scratch using 2,000 H800 chips, hopefully the world will recognize that is a lie. The fact is, Deepseek is almost entirely dependent on banned American technology and IP. It is training its models by illegally using U.S. chips, and illictly stealing U.S. IP. These actions must have consequences. reuters.com/world/china/ch…

Sam just posted the corporate equivalent of “we’re fine, everything’s fine” while Reuters cites eight sources saying OpenAI has been actively shopping for Nvidia alternatives since last year. His own staff blamed Nvidia’s GPUs for Codex performance issues. Three days ago on a press call, Sam himself said customers “put a big premium on speed for coding work” and that Cerebras would help meet that demand. The reason this matters: inference is now two-thirds of all AI compute spending. Training made Nvidia untouchable. Inference is a different game. GPUs rely on external memory (HBM), which creates a latency bottleneck every time a chatbot fetches data to generate a response. For something like Codex, where users need code generated fast enough to feel like pair programming, that bottleneck becomes a product problem. OpenAI went to Groq to solve it. Groq’s LPU architecture uses on-chip SRAM instead of external memory, which eliminates the fetch penalty and makes inference dramatically faster. OpenAI was in active discussions with both Groq and Cerebras for chips that would handle roughly 10% of their inference fleet. Then Nvidia wrote a $20 billion check and absorbed Groq’s entire leadership team, IP, and 90% of its engineers. That deal closed five weeks ago. Read that sequence again. OpenAI identifies a performance gap in Nvidia hardware. OpenAI starts talking to Nvidia’s most credible inference competitor. Nvidia buys that competitor for 3x its last valuation. Now Sam is posting “we love working with Nvidia.” This is what a hostage negotiation looks like in the semiconductor industry. Nvidia’s $100 billion investment in OpenAI has been “closing within weeks” since September. The Groq acquisition wasn’t a technology play. It was a blocking move. Nvidia paid $20 billion to make sure its largest customer couldn’t build an escape route from GPU dependence. Sam knows all of this. His tweet reads like damage control because it is damage control. The “insanity” he doesn’t get is eight of his own people talking to Reuters.
Sam Altman@sama

We love working with NVIDIA and they make the best AI chips in the world. We hope to be a gigantic customer for a very long time. I don't get where all this insanity is coming from.

Steven Bannon snaps at Jeffrey Epstein’s “bullsh*t and happy talking” and tells him to stop playing stupid. It all started when Bannon asked Epstein when human life begins. Epstein replied: “can’t be measured.” But it’s what Epstein said next that pushed Bannon over the edge. After further questioning, Epstein claimed that he didn’t even know “what it means to be measured.” Once Steve Bannon heard this, he went off. BANNON: “You do know what it means to be measured. You’re one of the leading currency traders, hedge fund guys or stock market financial wizards. You’re in the high priesthood of high finance. You certainly know how to measure. That’s why you’re a billionaire. Any other answer besides that is total and COMPLETE BULLSH!T, and you know it.” EPSTEIN: “I know very few things.” BANNON: “You know things can be measured. You measure every day. You weigh and measure people. You weigh and measure leaders. You weigh and measure economies. You weigh and measure politics. Your whole life, in fact, is MEASURING.” EPSTEIN: “So what you’ve now done is a great thing is you’ve used the word measure, a mathematic term in the common vernacular, and abused it. So I don’t even recognize what it means. It’s so abusive to my field.” *Epstein grins*

Crazy that the Tesla Model S will halt production after 14 years, still undefeated by the competition. I lost count of how many "Tesla killers" from the OEMs were talked up and faded away. The BMW i3, Mitsubishi i-miev, Jaguar i-pace, Porsche Panamera, Fisker Karma, Nissan Leaf, etc. All footnotes at best. More recent cars like the Hyundai Kona approach the performance and utility of the original 2012 Model S, but the modern S is in another class entirely. Some of the recent BYD models come close, after 15 years of development. I still remember seeing my first one in the wild, it was like looking through a time machine.

ELON Blocked me for Asking a Question, Then called me Retarded... So last night, Elon Musk blocked me and called me a “retard.” Not because I attacked him. Not because I insulted him. But because I asked him a question. Elon posted data showing that white populations in large cities are declining relative to minority groups, and then declared, “Whites are a dying minority.” I replied with a simple question: “Why is this a problem?” That was it. Within an hour, I was blocked. Elon didn’t answer the question. Instead, he implied I was mentally deficient and retweeted an out-of-context post, conveniently after blocking me so I couldn’t respond. Elon, I remember when you claimed to care about free speech, open debate, and criticism. All I did was ask why this was supposedly a problem. And the fact that that question triggered this reaction tells us everything. None of us are 100% “white.” Race is a social construct, not a biological threat level. Oh and I know a bunch of antisemites will respond telling me I’m “jewish” so I’m not white. Well you are either you bigots.
