Everything has it's place, but the way this was described was that it was as if unopposed was the be all and end all for young players. The amount of time you have is key, if you have an hour and a half drop 15 mins pure unopposed in. But make sure those kids are not bored. That is the highest priority.

Someone informed me that their UEFA C tutor said that the youngest players should be using unopposed to begin with, essentially working their way up the practice spectrum from unopposed to fully opposed. I could cry.

@PeterPrickett I completely agree that play is much more fun, involves more decision making and is probably more effective for overall player development. I believe there is also a place for layering drills from unopposed into overloaded and then into even numbered game situations/games.

@Devin_D_23 A misunderstanding of the practice spectrum. Decision making and technical development are non-linear. Play is more fun for young kids than isolated unopposed technical work.
