I'm not a fan of vampire or vampire-like stories but The Coldfire trilogy by C.S Friedman is calling to me. Has anyone here read it?

@Siennafrst Read it years ago. I was not expecting some of what's in there but I got through it and thoroughly enjoyed the series. Great characters. Great story.

I should be promoting my own books but I find it unacceptable that nobody seems to have read or have A Land Fit for Heroes on their TBR (WHY?? WHY????) when this is the absolute best of Grimdark fantasy I’d say defines the genre in the best way possible, not to mention the writing skill beats everyone right out of the water. I’ve reread the series 5x and will keep rereading for life. I don’t care how long your TBR is, I don’t care if you’re beta reading someone for money, I don’t care if you have to go to work, if you’re no snowflakes, love grimdark and you think you’re man enough to handle anything, drop everything you’re reading and read this MFing series. Drop it, even if it’s my book. Yes, I do mean it. Warning: if you need *any* trigger warnings or have ever had a problem with sex, violence, and abuse in fantasy, ignore this post and move on. This is fantasy with magic and dragons but do NOT, for the sake of your sanity and mine, think for a second that it’s going to be your magical dragon fantasy. It is NOT. The fact that I love it this much should be enough of a sign.
