My first ever visit to Salisbury Plain to see the Great Bustards. At 14.00 19 were giving excellent scope views. A bit too far for my phone though

A warm and sunny morning in Wiltshire at Winterbourne Downs RSPB. Spent nearly an hour scanning from the first screen without success. A short walk up to Lapwing Screen and 3 Stone Curlews visible at 12.05 in the sheep field.

I have finally seen my first summer migrant. At least 4 Wheatears in Barn Field Hengistbury Head at 13.55.

2 White-tailed Eagles flew across the bay at 12.50 and landed on Blackberry Spit, Christchurch harbour. Viewed by me from the top of Hengistbury Head. No Wheatears but great view of a male Dartford Warbler earlier

A warm spring day in the New Forest. Excellent views of a male Lesser Spotted Woodpecker and then 2 Woodlarks. Despite several Birders looking no sign of the GGS at Pigs Bush but a White-tailed Eagle flew over.

@PlushieTumRs @DorsetBirdClub That was the direction they flew from. I haven't been that side of the road since we went there to see a Woodchat Shrike about 15 years ago.

I sat on the seat at North Walls Wareham for 20 minutes but no sign of the 3 Glossy Ibis. I was just about to leave when they flew in at 14.55.

A cold wind blowing on Studland this morning but I did manage to see 2 Dartford Warblers. The Red-necked Grebe and a Common Scoter were off Middle Beach. Two GNDs off South Beach I heard a Woodlark singing this afternoon but didn't see it unfortunately.

I made the right decision not to go along the M4 to Marshfield to look for Corn Bunting. This morning whilst sitting in the car at Maiden Castle carpark I watched a Corn Bunting fly in and land on the fence near the car. None singing though probably due to the wind.

A lot less water on the flood at Chapel Amble than when I was here three weeks ago. Now 2 Green Sandpipers though but very few wintering Chiff Chaffs.

As we were heading west I detoured to Saltram NT. The Bonaparte's Gull was on the mud at Blaxton Meadow at 10.20. No sign of the Red-creasted Pochards though on the pond. Good to see BobB.

@FegWitch Weather was much warmer today than when I last saw you both at Titchwell RSPB back in January. Unfortunately I didn't see the Bearded Tits you and Ann saw earlier this morning.

I drove around to the Axbridge side car park and walked towards the sailing club. The winter plumage Little Gull was still hawking over the water and landing frequently at 16.15. Now for a carvery at Brent House to end an excellent day in the Somerset sunshine.

Walking up to the town centre this morning I stopped on the bridge over the River Lowman for a quick look. Luckily I spotted a Dipper feeding down river and whilst I was watching it another Dipper flew up river. First time I have ever seen Dipper from that bridge.
