Devon General Omnibus Trust

We start our annual inspections in March so that there is plenty of time for us to rectify any problems before the main rally season. First up is our 1952 Weymann-bodied AEC Regent III NTT 661. Its inspection revealed no significant issues. Picture credit: Terry Bennett

In early 1958, fourteen Weymann-bodied AEC Reliances were delivered: XTA 824-837 (SR 824-837). These were similar to the fourteen of the VDV batch received in 1957, except they had vacuum brakes rather than air. XTA 826 is seen here at Exeter. Picture credit: Brian Bennett

957 HTT is a 31-seat Harrington-bodied Albion Nimbus, one of three bought in 1962. It entered service (as SN957) at Sidmouth depot, whilst SN958 and 959 went to Newton Abbot depot. It's seen at Exeter Paris Street bus station some years later. Picture credit: Brian Bennett

Our AEC 'Light Six' Rebuild ETT 995 is seen at Highweek Way in Newton Abbot, during the 'Devon General Remembered' running day on 3/9/23. It features a reconditioned 1937 AEC Regent chassis, 1938 AEC Regal running units, and a 1953 Saunders-Roe body. Picture credit: Paul Jenkins
