Here's my in-depth review for Spiderman - Brand New Day (Spoilers in the end) 👇
Story - 9/10 : The movie depicted the comic accurate version of Spiderman, with Peter struggling to balance his identities, going through transition thereby achieving organic webbing
MCU-Position - 5/10 : The movie is very grounded, not part of the bigger MCU, but more of a Spiderman series.
Action/Fight scenes - 9.5/10 : Arguably the best fight scenes on screen a Spiderman movie has depicted, only that they were not long enough.
The Good : Tom Holland's portrayal, Sadie Sink's character, Punisher (he steals the best comedic scenes)
The Bad : Main antagonist is not the so called villain towards the end. Weakest part of the movie is the choice of villain, and right when the fight starts to get good, it abruptly gets ended !
Spoilers :
The movie based on a Spiderman storyline did exceedingly well to fit in the introduction of Jean Grey, an omega level X-Men, however towards the end it literally copied Thunderbolts' "Talk it out".
The fight scenes with Hulk and the Hand were the best fight scenes in live action Spiderman movies till date. The highlight shot of entire movie being Spidey sliding in the Punisher mid air, while he shoots the Hulk charging at them.
The movie tries to show that Peter's organic webbing are one of the strongest elements in MCU, strong enough to shatter a Katana!
Frank Castle was hilarious ! His one liners spread across his screen time fit in perfectly, and he stole the show wearing Spidey's mask in the ending.
Ned and MJ were perfect. The movie tries to explain that the Dr.Strange spell is reversible if you try to make the characters remember you, which ended on a hopeful note for Peter.
All talks aside, Spiderman Brand New Day is an emotional, beautiful, action packed movie with a fresh breath of change in the MCU
