You can't speak for every young kid in America, go on YouTube an search any group AAU, they are playing 10 foot hoops. I've never played on a small hoop always 10 feet because I played with older family. You look at it as forming bad habits where others adapt for a more efficient development

Smart model. Putting kids on lowered hoops with small balls helps them develop at the correct level relative to their proportions
