ANC SECRETARY GENERAL | Fikile Mbalula
Cde President Nelson Mandela was inaugurated as the first democratically elected President of the Republic of South Africa on this day in 1994, marking a new chapter of eradicating colonialism and apartheid in our country, to build a united, non-racial, non-sexist, democratic and prosperous South Africa. The building of this national democratic society as articulated in the Freedom Charter remains the historic mission of our movement and whose fundamental objective is the building of a better life for all.

Modibe Stands Firm as Judge Phahlane Faces Arrest and Exposure‼️‼️‼️ Judge Portia Phahlane, a prominent Pretoria High Court judge, has been arrested on corruption allegations linked to a case she presided over. Both she and her son were taken into custody. This follows claims that she allegedly received a R6 million bribe from fraud and murder-accused Bhekimuzi Sandlana, who is reportedly still fighting to prevent his own arrest. Phahlane previously attempted to intimidate top investigative journalist @mmodiba10, who first exposed her alleged corruption. His response was nothing short of remarkable: “I hereby formally challenge Judge Phahlane, through your firm, to immediately institute the urgent High Court defamation proceedings. Let this be known: your client’s toothless threat of litigation, if pursued, will not intimidate me. Instead, it will guarantee that the evidence at my disposal is presented in open court - resulting in profound embarrassment for Judge Phahlane and a grave crisis of integrity for the entire Judiciary.”

Julius Malema says going to prison for firing a gun in public is a “badge of honour.” But how is it revolutionary to break the law without delivering any real change for the people you claim to fight for? Is this leadership — or just performance?

Police Escort Gangs in Maquassi Hills as Two People Brutally Killed‼️‼️‼️ ⚠️ Graphic Content – Viewer Discretion Advised WOLMARANSSTAD — A violent gang turf war tore through Tswelelang on Thursday, claiming one life and leaving another man fighting for survival. According to police, rival gangs joined by community members and local taxi operators clashed in the early hours, blockading the N12 and Wolmaransstad CBD with burning tyres. Amid the chaos, a taxi driver was stabbed to death and later succumbed to his injuries at a local clinic. In a separate act of brutality, another man was drenched in petrol and set alight. He was rushed to hospital in critical condition. Specialised police units, including Public Order Policing (POP) and the Tactical Response Team (TRT), were deployed last night to contain the violence after the local police were observed‘escorting’ mob of gangs. North West police spokesperson Colonel Adéle Myburgh confirmed that cases of murder and attempted murder are under investigation. “The situation has been stabilised, but it remains tense and under close monitoring,” Myburgh said. The Economic Freedom Fighters in the North West condemned the senseless violence and lawlessness that has gripped Wolmaransstad, calling it a “shameful display of criminality that undermines the safety, stability, and dignity of our communities.” The party urged law enforcement to act decisively, arrest the perpetrators, and dismantle the gangs terrorising residents

June 2017, a Black of duty cop was coming i assist some usher aficers but as he approached them, the other cops, who were white, just saw a Black man coming toward them and shot him. One of the cops later justified this action by saying that he apparently "feared for his safety." The Black cop's lawyer said of the case that his client was "treated as an ordinary black guy on the street." Thinking about this incident, it appears that the Black cop seamlessly moves from being a force of structural white supremacy (as a uniformed cop) to being shot just for being Black. To help make sense of this, it is necessary to understand that anti-Blackness can emerge at any moment with the existence of Blackness. Anti-Blackness does not need any particular behavior to respond to; it is not a causal reaction. All that anti-Blackness needs to violently surface is the presence of Blackness; nothing needs to "happen." - Karolina Schemeider

During the heydays of Black Consciousness, the black 'epithet' was a highly earned appellation. Meaning, those who shirked and shunned blackness were roundily cast out as 'non-whites'. This is how 'non-whitism' as a political function of critique emerged in and around black communities and the struggle in general. Those blacks who worked against the agenda of black unity, self-determination and ultimate liberation were dubbed non-whites. And at the time these included leaders of the homelands, the blacks in police, army and the security cluster of an oppressive order. But at a deep philosophical level, this logic of non-whites presents contradictions in the sense that it is not a vertical tool of analysis. Non-whitism is a horizontal discourse existing among ourselves as the oppressed black nation. It bears little value to the racist white settlers. Put differently, when whites look at us, they make no distinction between a non-white or a revolutionary black subaltern. In the face of whiteness, all black people are niggarized. In the words of Fanon, he talks about the 'epidermalization of blackness' which means we are not slave to the idea of being called black or harboring radical ideas. We are slave to appearance! This is my difficulty with the non-white logic or the wisdom of applying it as an instrument of both analysis and critique. The inclusion of the so-called Coloureds and Indians into the black schema compounds an already dicey formular. This is why theorizing is such messy exercise. E.g: how do we rationalize the fact that most Indians, as a group, politically identify with white racist parties like the DA? And how do we make sense of developments as the one of Gayton? Perhaps Biko's invitation to all oppressed groups to mobilize around BC as a theoretical creed of struggle was an invitation to a table full of contradictions, though I appreciate why Biko had to define Africans, Coloureds and Indians as black in order to lay bare the enemy for attack - which was whiteness. So I both understand and also don't understand this debate. One thing for sho is though is that the post-1994 ANC-led government failed to conceptualize racism, it's history and it's expression. It reproduced the four nation thesis of apartheid with all their tensions.

When one goes back to re-read the EFF's conceptual documents, it always feels like reading it for the first time. You always pick up something new that you may have missed in the first time(s). You don't need to consult friends or run to an online search engine to find answers to anything. Everything is clearly explained in the documents. From the land question, the economy, arts, culture - everything in between, and all the way down to justice and law. Also, you never get bored or feel unconvinced as you read through it. The party literature is both diagnostic and prescriptive. This is what you call the political and ideological blueprint. Sometimes, we can get stuck in the cauldron of party activities and programmes that we forget the power behind the founding ideas of the EFF. The driving force and motivation behind this Movement are not the minutes of a caucus meeting or murmurs of a factional secret gathering held in some corner. It's the abiding ideas as embodied in the Founding Manifesto, it's constitution and all policies that get continuously updated in light of South Africa's evolving socioeconomic structure. The political and ideological manifestation of the EFF can only be fully appreciated and bettered when the collective membership deeply embeds itself in the literature of the Party. This political education offensive has to be driven from the roots of branches. You don't need a Commissar from the CCT to do this. The grassroots activism and mass mobilization must never compromise this aspect of our movement, in the same way the SG has been removed from parliament to give an undivided attention on Party functioning and building. This observation, as based on the wisdom of the Party, was that an overly focus on parliament and governance compromised a focus on the Party. And I agree with this logic, too. The SG belongs to HQ, not parliament. Based on the coherence and practicality of its ideas alone, this makes EFF the most sound socialist Party.

Most people like saying that taking your kids to ridiculously expensive schools like Hilton College, Michaelhouse and St Stithians would set up valuable networks and guarantee them success. But then again, I don’t know of any CEO of a major JSE listed companies who went to these schools. In which professions, sectors or industries are the alumni succeeding!
