In 1980, the Gujarat government and private partners set up Gujarat Gas Limited, which expanded piped gas to areas like Surat and Bharuch, commissioning its first PNG connection in 1989 in Ankleshwar as part of commercial scaling. If i am not mistaken, piped gas became widely available across Gujarat cities around 2005. People have been enjoying piped gas there for decades now. Insane.

*‘ધુરંધર-2’ કેટલી વાર જોવી જોઈએ, કેમ? : સૌરભ શાહ* ગઈ કાલે રાત્રે ફરી એકવાર ‘ધુરંધર ધ રિવેન્જ’ જોઈને ઘરે પાછા ફરતી વખતે આ વિચાર આવ્યો છે જે તમારી સાથે શેર કરી રહ્યો છું. ફિલ્મમાં તો ક્યાંય આ બધી વાતો નથી પણ તમારે તમારી રીતે કલ્પના કરવાની હોય કે રણવીર સિંહ ઉર્ફે હમઝા અલી મઝારીની જેમ તમારે પાકિસ્તાન જેવા દુશ્મન દેશમાં જઈને ત્યાંના લોકોમાં ભળી જઈને ભારત માટે ઉપયોગી હોય એવી માહિતી મેળવતા જાસૂસ તરીકેની જિંદગી જીવવાની હોય તો તમારે શું શું શીખવું પડે? એક તો, લડવા માટે અનિવાર્ય એવી કમાન્ડો જેવી શારીરિક ક્ષમતા, માનસિક સજ્જતા અને મજબૂત મિલિટરી તાલીમ જોઈએ. એ પછી તમે ભારતમાં જે પરિવારમાં જન્મ્યા ત્યારથી તમારી જે ખાવાપીવાની, બોલવાની, પહેરવાઓઢવાની, ભગવાનને યાદ કરવાની વગેરે જે સેંકડો ટેવો હોય, જે સંસ્કારો હોય તે બધું જ ભૂલી જવાનું અને એને ભૂંસી-ભૂંસીને બધી જ ટેવો નવેસરથી આત્મસાત કરવાની. કુટુંબથી દૂર રહેવાનું. પ્રેમ-સ્નેહ-મૈત્રી-લાગણી આ બધું જ છોડી દેવાનું. તમારા કમ્ફર્ટ ઝોનમાંથી ટોટલી બહાર નીકળી જવાનું. અને એ પછી સતત ભયમાં જીવવાનું- મોતનો સામનો કોઈપણ ઘડીએ થઈ શકે છે. જાન પણ જઈ શકે છે. અને જાન જશે તો કોઈ મેડલ મળવાનો નથી, કોઈને તમારા બલિદાન વિશે ખબર પડવાની નથી. ગીતાના કર્મણ્યે વાધિકારસ્તે શ્લોકને તમારે ચરિતાર્થ કરવાનો છે. ફળની આશા રાખવાની નથી. તમારી ફરજ બજાવવામાં સફળ થશો અને જીવતા રહેશો તો પણ દુનિયામાં કોઈને તમારી સિદ્ધિની જાણ થવાની નથી. કોઈ તમને હારતોરા પહેરાવવા આવવાનું નથી. મૃત્યુ પામશો તો કોઈ તમારા શોકમાં બેસણું રાખવાનું નથી. તમારા અસ્થિને હરદ્વાર-પ્રયાગરાજમાં પધરાવવા કોઈ જવાનું નથી. બલિદાન આને કહેવાય, દોસ્તો. ‘ધુરંધર-ટુ’ વારંવાર જોવાનું કારણ જ આ છે. ફિલ્મમાં એવી અનેક વાતો છે જે પ્રગટપણે નથી કહેવાઈ પણ થિયેટરના વાતાવરણમાં રહીને તમે એ બધી વાતો મહેસૂસ કરી શકો છો, ફિલ્મ તમને વિચારતા કરી મૂકે છે. અને એટલે જ ગઈકાલે મલાડના ઇનઑર્બિટમાં ‘ધુરંધર-ટુ’ પાંચમી વખત જોયા પછી પણ અમે ધરાયા નથી. આજે, રવિવારે, બપોરના 1:00 વાગ્યાના શોમાં બોરીવલીમાં નવા ખુલેલા સ્કાય સિટી મૉલના આઈનૉક્સ મેગાપ્લેક્સમાં જવાના છીએ. આજે એકવાર નહીં બે વાર આ માસ્ટરપીસ જોવાના છીએ. સાંજે 6:30 વાગ્યે એ જ જગ્યાએ આઈમૅક્સના ફૉર્મેટવાળા સ્ક્રીન પર પહેલીવાર મજા માણવા મળશે. મુંબઈમાં અને ભારતનાં ઘણાં શહેરોમાં ‘ધુરંધર-ટુ’ ના શોઝ 24 કલાક, રાઉન્ડ ધ ક્લૉક ચાલે છે. બુક માય શો માં તમે એક્સપ્લોર કરજો. રાત્રે બે વાગ્યાના શોમાં પણ ટિકિટનું બુકિંગ ચાલુ છે. એક જમાનો હતો જ્યારે આતંકવાદીઓ માટે રાત્રે બે વાગ્યે કોર્ટ ખુલતી હતી. એક આ જમાનો છે જ્યારે આતંકવાદ વિરોધી ફિલ્મો માટે રાત્રે 2:00 વાગે થિયેટરો ખુલ્લા રહે છે. યે નયા હિન્દુસ્તાન હૈ. ‘ધુરંધર-ટુ’ (અને વન પણ) માસ્ટરપીસ છે, પાથ બ્રેકિંગ ફિલ્મ છે, ફિલ્મ ઇન્ડસ્ટ્રી માટે ગેમ ચેન્જર છે. ફિલ્મ બનાવવાનું આખું ગ્રામર બદલી નાખ્યું છે આદિત્ય ધરે. ‘ધુરંધર-ટુ’ને તમે અનેક સ્તરે જોઈ શકો છો, માણી શકો છો. ફિલ્મ મેકિંગના માસ્ટર ક્લાસ તરીકે આ ફિલ્મના દરેક પાસાનો પૃથક અભ્યાસ કરી શકો છો. અને સાથે સાથે ભારતના સમકાલીન ઇતિહાસમાં પ્રવેશીને એ પણ જાણી શકો છો કે શા માટે અહીં ગાઈ બજાવીને કહેવાયું છે કે યે નયા હિન્દુસ્તાન હૈ. ‘ધુરંધર-ટુ’ એવી ફિલ્મ છે જેને ખરેખર અપ્રિશ્યેટ કરવા માટે તમારે બીજીવાર જોવી જ પડે. પહેલીવારમાં બધું ધ્યાન સ્ટોરીલાઈન પર હશે અને બીજીવારમાં ફિલ્મ અલગ પરસ્પેક્ટિવમાં દેખાશે. તમે લાઈફમાં ક્યારેય કોઈ ફિલ્મ બીજી વાર જોતા ન હો તો પણ આ ફિલ્મ માટે અપવાદ કરીને બીજી વાર જોઈ આવજો—જ્યાં સુધી થિયેરમાં છે ત્યાં સુધી. બીજીવાર ઓટીટી પર નહીં— થિયેટરમાં જ જોઈ લેવાની. થિયેટર એક્સપીરિયન્સમાં અને ઓટીટી પર જોવામાં જમીનઆસમાનનો ફરક હોય છે. આજે રવિવાર છે. અમે મિત્રો આજે બે વાર ‘ધુરંધર-ટુ’ જોઈશું એટલે અમારો સ્કોર 7 પર પહોંચશે. તમારો સ્કોર કેટલે પહોંચ્યો ? *** ( સૌરભ શાહના આવા સેંકડો લેખો વાંચવા Newspremi. comના આર્કાઇવ્ઝનો લાભ લો. સૌરભ શાહના રોજેરોજ લખાતા લેખોની જાણકારી મેળવવા વૉટ્સઍપ નંબર 90040 99112 પર તમારું નામ મોકલીને સૌરભ શાહના ગ્રુપમાં જોડાઈ જાઓ.)

Just yesterday, drove from Surat to Ahmedabad in under 3 hrs (with a 15-20 min of tea break). There was some work going on near Bharuch, but you can't judge a 1000 km+ long expressway based on a 100 m stretch unless you're looking for engagement farming or acting like a lowlife Congressi troll.
