@gbw42 We decided to double as well. Gotta prepare for @nanopore launching Dorado 0.9.1 in minknow so the GPUs can do 2-3 times more SUP 🟩🟩🟩

Mmmmm, fresh genome. This is a peek at the nanopore data ahead of Illumina run next week. Amazingly fast turnaround time of TWO DAYS. Thanks, @plasmidsaurus!!! Already designing knockout cassettes as we speak. Engineering microbes for nice smells at @SenseoryPlants.

Anyway, gonna try out @plasmidsaurus's hybrid genome sequencing for a work microbe I'm developing at @SenseoryPlants. Price seems decent. Let's see how good the coverage is on this 7ish Mbp actino. We'll upload genome to genbank once assembled and polished. Yay, sequencing!

Excited to share our new study of #genomics🧬, #EHR📈 + treatment outcomes of 78K patients across 20 #cancers! We identified >700 mutations predicting which drugs💊 are effective for individual patients. Our #ML model predicts who respond well to immunotherapy #precisioncancer

Nice. I remember doing a BBSRC summer internship in the UK on wheat varieties and the affect of take-all on them....both by hand, visual scoring, and a few basic molecular techniques...! 🤣 How times have changed in Ag!

Scientists from the Earlham Institute will head to #PAG32 next month, presenting their work during the '#wheatgenomics to breeding' session on using #genomeassemblies and ultra-long #Nanopore reads to identify key variations in wheat. okt.to/vE34sY

Excited to show our latest attempt at a clinically meaningful clinical cancer genome with rapid turn around (24 hours!) times using Oxford Nanopore sequencing technology for patients who need a rapid, whole genome assessment of their tumour and germline, offering them (1/n):

Great accuracy using @nanopore DRS RNA004 on total RNA. ~96-98% identity using sup calling. Example of a ~10.8 Kb full length 🥬 transcript below. 💥

Well here's the @nanopore update.. we have carried out a hereditary cancer panel screen: * ~200 genes * 15mbases panel * Coverage between 50-70x on target; 5x off target * 16hr run time LSK114 + R10.4.1 This is PMS2 exon 10&11 - a notoriously difficult place to sequence with SR

I am happy to say that as a result of direct support from the Brenton group, we now have an Oxford @nanopore PromethION 24 housed within the genomics core at @CRUK_CI! Looking forward to see what we can discover with this technology
