From our beginning, Vanderbilt has believed in the power of bringing together people of differing viewpoints for a common purpose. #DialogueVanderbilt

Pretty stoked about this: The evening of April 9 at 6 p.m. I’ll be at @landmarkbookstn in historic Franklin, Tennessee, interviewing @JMchangama about his book, Free Speech: A History from Socrates to Social Media. The late great P.J. O’Rourke called it “the best history of free speech ever written and the best defense of free speech ever made.” Jacob and I will discuss the history of free speech, why it matters to the present moment, and how free speech is currently jeopardized. Best of all? We’ll follow the conversation with a Q&A session—an ideal moment to get your questions answered by one of the leading authorities on free speech today. If you’ve never been to Landmark Booksellers, it’s a downtown treasure. This event is sure to inspire. If you’re in the area, come on out!
