“What about yuichiro??” He’s not a canon character in the manga. I’m going off the canon; aka the manga. I’m sorry, I don’t care if you adore the 90s anime but you have to admit it’s not accurate to the source material and Takeuchi herself has brought that up.

using the 90s anime as your reference to the canon of the series is the first problem. It’s wildly inaccurate to the manga, which is what the artwork in the original tweet is from. Rei canonically hates men so even if you argue she’s not gay she definitely isn’t straight either
