A reminder that it has now been 241 days since the @EHRC sent @bphillipsonMP its draft guidance on single-sex spaces. But she has yet to table it in parliament.

I was a firearms officer too Andy (for over 20 years), and I'm glad to say I never had to disarm an active terrorist who had just stabbed members of the public. My training was simple (and probably very similar to yours): if a suspect was not complying with commands to disarm and drop a knife, and I had formed an honest held belief that there was an imminent threat to life, the suspect would be shot until the imminent threat to life was no more. Not Tasered. Not kicked in the head. Shot. Aiming at the centre body mass. In all probability, lethal force being used. These officers were exceeding brave. If that suspect could have got back up off the floor, still armed with the knife, he could have killed and / or seriously injured many more people in a frenzied attack - including the officers - in a very short space of time. These unarmed officers could not take that risk. Using the NDM, it is clear to all sensible and knowledgeable people that the use of force utilised in these circumstances - including the kicks to the head - was fully justified. These officers are heroes, and deserve our full admiration and praise.

@sarahknapton @JackJDees I have been a police officer for nearly 27 years, was on OFC in ARVs for 10 years and worked on the national taser course in 2022. I don't ever remember being trained to kick someone in the head, although any use of force can be justified in certain circumstances

Anonymous My daughter is fourteen. Noticed something I missed entirely. We have a woman on our street. Older. Seventies. Walks her dog every evening. My daughter noticed she always slowed down in front of houses with kids playing outside. Just for a moment. Watching. Smiling. My daughter started waving. Then saying hello. Then stopping to talk. Found out the woman’s name is Helen. Husband passed five years ago. Grown kids in other states. The dog is named Walter and is twelve years old and arthritic... My daughter asked if she could walk with her sometime. Helen said she’d like that very much. Now my daughter walks with Helen and Walter three evenings a week. Does her homework at Helen’s kitchen table on Tuesdays because Helen makes good tea and it’s quiet. Helen has been teaching her to knit. My daughter is not naturally patient but she’s learning. Last month Helen had a bad fall. Nothing broken but she was shaken. My daughter sat with her for four hours until Helen’s daughter could fly in. Helen’s daughter took my number. Texts me updates. Calls my daughter Helen’s girl. My daughter said Mom she just needed someone to notice she was slowing down. I said most people walk right past that. She said I know. That’s why I stopped.

Kemi Badenoch went on Laura Kuenssberg to address the gravest crisis British Jews have faced in modern Britain. Kuenssberg tried to drag it onto Tommy Robinson; Badenoch refused the diversion, named the antisemitism plainly, and showed real moral clarity.

So disgusted by this… Worked with Maureen in 2015 on a play, in Birmingham & London, & there were concerns for her safety even then. This abysmally foul & downright dangerous attempt to demonise & cancel her should outrage & sicken us all. Arts: SPEAK UP & OUT! RT 🙏

Kemi Badenoch has been a genuine breath of fresh air in British politics, clear, composed, and willing to engage without hiding behind rehearsed lines. But let’s be honest about the scale of the task she’s inherited. Rebuilding trust in the Conservative Party isn’t a messaging problem, it’s a credibility one after years of internal fractures and public fatigue. The real test isn’t how well she performs in interviews, but whether she can convince the country that the party itself has fundamentally changed.

Kemi Badenoch is absolutely fantastic on Laura kuenssberg. She is so articulate and deals with every question honestly and fairly and has the decency to admit if mistakes were made unlike the SNP . She would be an excellent PM 👏

The Conservative Party is clear: if you want to spread hatred and violence towards Jews, you are not welcome in Britain.

Good about time. Most of these unions have huge female numbers who pay their subs, it’s about time the unions were made to represent them & abide by Uk law. Women are not 2nd class citizens, we have rights too.
Susan Dalgety@DalgetySusan

At last, the trade union movement is to be challenged in the courts over its support for gender ideology, as Community - whose members include leading @UKLabour ministers - faces a judicial review over its ‘equality’ policies.
