A fun story regarding one of my inspirations.
When I was a kid, there was this weird show I saw on Toonami called "Wulin Warriors." It only had a few episodes, but it's basically a strange American dub of a beautiful Taiwanese puppet show called Pili. (Wulin Warriors reused the footage and created its own bizarre story.)
*Fun fact: Pili has over 2000 episodes.*
Even though I probably only watched it a couple of times, it's always stuck with me. I think there's a chance that watching it is why I love stories told through toy-like characters.
I thought this would be a fun little memory to share, so here are some pictures of the show.
As you can see, the imagery is stunning and beautiful. It's been around since the 80s yet gets very little attention in the West.
There actually is a dubbed version (besides Wulin Warriors) of a short spinoff of the main Pili show called "Pili Fantasy: War of the Dragons."
