सेल द्वारा आईएनएस नीलगिरी के लिए विशेष स्टील की सम्पूर्ण मात्रा की आपूर्ति नई दिल्ली, 16 जनवरी, 2025: 'आत्मनिर्भर भारत' और 'मेक इन इंडिया' की भावना और दृष्टि को मजबूत करने के अपने संकल्प को जारी रखते हुए, भारत की महारत्न और सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के सबसे बड़े स्टील निर्माता, स्टील अथॉरिटी ऑफ इंडिया लिमिटेड (सेल) ने आईएनएस नीलगिरी (INS Nilgiri) के लिए विशेष स्टील की पूरी मात्रा, 4,000 टन, की आपूर्ति की है। इस शक्तिशाली पोत को माननीय प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी द्वारा 15 जनवरी, 2025 को भारतीय नौसेना में कमीशन किया गया है। सेल द्वारा सप्लाई किये गए विशेष स्टील में डीएमआर 249ए (DMR 249A) ग्रेड की हॉट रोल्ड (एचआर) शीट्स और प्लेट्स शामिल है। यह पूरी आपूर्ति सेल के बोकारो, भिलाई और राउरकेला स्टील प्लांट से की गई है। सेल के बोकारो स्टील प्लांट ने लगभग 2,000 टन एचआर शीट्स और प्लेट्स का योगदान दिया, जबकि भिलाई और राउरकेला स्टील प्लांट ने क्रमशः 1,600 टन और 400 टन प्लेट्स की आपूर्ति की। आईएनएस नीलगिरी भारतीय नौसेना के लिए मझगांव डॉक शिपबिल्डर्स लिमिटेड (एमडीएल) द्वारा निर्मित नीलगिरी-क्लास प्रोजेक्ट पी17ए फ्रिगेट्स का स्वदेशी अग्रणी पोत है। पी17ए जहाज गाइडेड मिसाइल फ्रिगेट्स हैं, जिनमें से प्रत्येक की लंबाई 149 मीटर है, लगभग 6,670 टन का विस्थापन है और गति 28 नॉट्स है। नौसेना ने सात स्टील्थ फ्रिगेट्स (stealth frigates) के लिए आर्डर दिए थे, जिनमें से चार मझगांव डॉक लिमिटेड (एमडीएल) और तीन जीआरएसई को दिए गए थे। यह सेल के लिए गर्व की बात है कि उसने पी17ए परियोजना के युद्धपोत निर्माण के लिए पूरे स्टील की आपूर्ति की है। भारत की रक्षा स्वदेशीकरण प्रयासों में एक मज़बूत साझेदार के रूप में, सेल ने विभिन्न रक्षा परियोजनाओं और नौसेना जहाजों, जिसमें आईएनएस विक्रांत भी शामिल है, के लिए विशेष स्टील की आपूर्ति की है। इससे सेल न केवल एक प्रमुख स्टील निर्माता बल्कि राष्ट्र का सबसे विश्वसनीय स्टील निर्माता बनने की प्रतिबद्धता को इंगित किया जा सकता है । सेल/पीआर/22/24-25 तारीख: 16.01.2025

.@SAILsteel Commemorates International Day of Persons with Disabilities Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), a Maharatna Public Sector Enterprise, commemorated the 'International Day of Persons with Disabilities' by distributing assistive devices to a cross section of persons with disabilities (Divyangjans) in a program held today on 03.12.2024 at its Corporate Office in New Delhi. The Company organized this priority program under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. As part of this initiative, held in collaboration with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), assistive aids such as tricycles, motorized tricycles, smart canes, smartphones for the visually impaired and hearing aids were distributed to enhance mobility and communication of the beneficiaries. Marking the third consecutive year of this endeavour, this event marks the beginning of this year’s phased distribution campaign that will take place across SAIL's plants and units. Shri Amarendu Prakash, Chairman, SAIL, alongside other senior officials, spearheaded the inaugural event, underscoring the company’s dedication to social inclusivity and support for Persons with Disabilities. On the occasion, SAIL Chairman, Shri Amarendu Prakash, said, “At SAIL, we salute the indomitable spirit of Divyangjans. They are the epitome of unparalleled strength and determination. SAIL has always been committed to provide support to them”.
