🎤 Meet Joe! — the artist behind our mural at Kent! #dicksdriveinmurals Joe Palec's Seattle connection started with a mural—one of his first!—that he painted at the Seattle Selfie Museum near Pike Place Market. When Joe starts a new project, he begins by building a list of images, ideas, and objects connected to the theme. From there, he organizes everything into a few key categories. For this project, he focused on three main themes: soccer, Dick’s Drive-In, and Seattle. The soccer elements include the expected things—like players, soccer balls, and trophies. The Dick’s Drive-In theme highlights classic menu items such as burgers, fries, and ice cream. And to capture the spirit of Seattle, Joe incorporated local imagery like orcas, pine trees, and—of course—Pike Place Market.

Arpo moved from Bangkok, Thailand, to Seattle a few years ago for work, and quickly fell for the city’s unexpected, quirky energy. She sees herself primarily as a designer, but shifts into “artist mode” outside of work, exploring her creativity more deeply. That artistic focus has led to more recognition through art competitions and events.
