On Thursday, March 19th, at around 3:30 pm, a traffic stop was conducted on a dark blue Dodge pickup truck on Bailey Road near Mulberry. The driver was identified as 33-year old David James Darling of Mulberry, and David didn't have a valid driver's license. His was suspended in May of 2025. The deputy asked David if he had anything illegal in the car, and David replied that he had a firearm. Well, a firearm in the car isn't necessarily illegal, but when the deputy checked it out, he found that it had been reported stolen out of Pasco County in December of 2024. So yeah, it was indeed illegal. David Darling was #ArrestedByThePolkCountySheriffsOffice and taken to the Sheriff's Processing Center where he was charged with DWLSR (M2) and Grand Theft of a Firearm (F3). #PCSO #PolkSheriff
