Update: Over R200 million has now been disbursed in the Presidential Employment Stimulus Programme administered by the the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture agency @NACSouthAfrica To date, a total of R200 235 605.60 has been disbursed to 1 246 beneficiaries. #TogetherForArts

@DidiMoses I received funding during the first round (3 months late). A measly figure. Subsequent rounds have not been paid to me - even though I submitted the same information and documents. Sigh...

As the Minister ultimately responsible, I firstly want to issue an unconditional apology for the task I entrusted with the NAC. You can rest assured that the much-needed stimulus for the sector will continue to be disbursed & we'll hold those who over-committed funds accountable.

@DidiMoses @NathiMthethwaSA @TheFugard @NathiMthethwaSA Where is your statement about the closure of this space? Your silence is deafening.

@DidiMoses @NathiMthethwaSA @TheFugard @NathiMthethwaSA Did you reach out to the management team when they announced the closure and retrenchment of the bulk of its staff in July 2020? No you did not.

@DidiMoses @NathiMthethwaSA @TheFugard Honestly no. @NathiMthethwaSA did you know that @TheFugard employed approx. 2000 artists, creatives, set builders, lighting techs, stage managers etc during its 10 years? Did you know that it had a thriving audience development programme that was funded entirely by the founder?

I am devastated to hear about the permanent closure of @TheFugard. So many memories. So many life-changing shows. But the best thing about it was the team that made it happen. Thinking about all of you today.

Observing #HumanRightsMonth2021 is a part of moving forward with efforts of Nation Building and Social Cohesion. We are the title deed holders of the sacrifices of our forebears, so we must continue in their footsteps & never lose focus on the task at hand #HumanRightsMonth2021
