It's because with the freedom to bear arms through the Second Amendment of the US Constitution that we also have to regulate who can legally possess firearms to those who use them responsibly, either for hunting, self-defense, etc.
Because crime is so rampant here compared to Japan, we have to make the process of owning a firearm legally a long multi step process.

Kei Urana is a author of GACHIAKUTA that she has deleted X account after her manga won 3 major awards today.
She said that the constant chaos and toxicity people on X is interfering with her manga work. She blocked critics pushing their own headcanons and rewriting her characters, then posted: “X chaos is on the rise and I’ve decided it’s getting in the way of my creative work.”
This is harassment and it does not respect for the artist vision, and tha western people fans treating manga like their personal fanfiction playground. It’s exhausting and it needs to stop.
