When Nigerians hear "crypto" they immediately think futures trading. Buy. Leverage. Hope. Liquidate. But one wrong move wipes your life savings overnight. What nobody tells you: there are easier, safer ways to make crypto work for you. Here's what I've learned 🧵

"The condition of our nation and the urgent need to rescue Nigeria, informed my decision to leave ADC for NDC." Yesterday, I formally joined the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), alongside my dear brother, Engr. Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, with one clear purpose: to continue the struggle for a new Nigeria built on justice, competence, accountability, and compassion for the ordinary Nigerian. As I stated yesterday, this decision was not made out of anger, personal ambition, or convenience. It came after deep reflection on the present condition of our nation and the urgent need to rescue Nigeria from the dangerous path it is currently heading. Over the years, I have remained steadfast in my conviction that politics should never be about individuals, positions, or personal gain. It must be about the people, especially the millions of Nigerians who today can no longer afford necessities, whose businesses are collapsing, whose children are losing hope, and whose future is becoming increasingly uncertain. I left the ADC for the same reason I left the Labour Party: the severe, orchestrated litigation and internal crises deliberately designed to ensure that I, alongside many other notable individuals, do not effectively participate in the electoral process. I sincerely appreciate and remain deeply grateful to the Leadership of ADC for the opportunity to work together in pursuit of a better Nigeria. I am particularly grateful to ADC Chairman Senator David Mark for his exceptional Leadership. I also deeply appreciate my Leader and elder brother YE, Atiku Abubakar, as well as other respected leaders within the party. As we join the NDC, I sincerely appeal to the Nigerian Government against the encouragement of unresolved litigations and the infusion of crises within political parties. Democracy must never become a weapon against the people. A healthy democracy thrives on strong institutions, credible alternatives, and the freedom of citizens to make choices without intimidation, manipulation, or fear. Opposition parties must not be weakened or destroyed, because when democracy loses balance, the people ultimately suffer. Nigeria today is passing through one of the most difficult periods in its history. Poverty is rising. Hunger is widespread. Insecurity continues to threaten lives and livelihoods. Businesses are shutting down daily. Our young people are becoming discouraged, and many citizens have lost faith in the system. At a time like this, leadership must be driven not by propaganda or division, but by competence, capacity, character, and compassion. Our decision to join the NDC is therefore not an abandonment of values, but a continuation of the same mission we have always stood for: building a Nigeria where leadership is about service, where public resources are managed responsibly, where institutions function independently, and where every Nigerian, regardless of tribe, religion, region, or social status, can live with dignity, security, and hope. I remain committed to working with all Nigerians of goodwill across political, ethnic, and religious lines. The task before us is bigger than any individual or political party. It is about the future of our children and the survival of our dear nation. I thank Nigerians, especially our youths and women, for remaining peaceful, resilient, and hopeful despite the enormous challenges confronting the country. I urge you not to lose faith in Nigeria. Nations do not change because people surrender to hopelessness; they change because people continue to believe, continue to sacrifice, and continue to stand for what is right. A new Nigeria is still POssible. -PO

Most traders don't lose because their strategy is wrong. They lose because they can't follow it when it matters. Somewhere between 70 and 90 percent of retail traders blow their accounts or quit within a year. Not a few bad apples, almost everyone. Revenge trading kills accounts fastest. You take a loss, feel it personally, size up to "get it back." Now you're not trading anymore. You're just gambling with a chart open. The second thing is not having a real edge. Most people pick setups because they saw a screenshot that looked clean. They've never tracked their own results, never asked whether it actually works in their market. They're just copying vibes. And then position sizing; which everyone ignores until one overleveraged trade in a volatile move takes out half the account. That's usually when the revenge trading starts. The frustrating part: none of this is secret. Every serious trader has read it. The problem is executing when the candle is moving and you're convinced this time is different. It usually isn't.

Most traders are watching BTC at 80k thinking "overbought." Here's what the chart actually shows: → Weekly + Daily: 7th higher close from 59.8k lows, BOS confirmed today → 4H: Weeks-long range ceiling cleared, price is in discovery → 1H/15m: Clean consolidation breakout, impulse holding at highs → Key risk: 4H close below 78,200 flips this setup Don't chase the move. I want an honest answer from you. On a scale of 1-10, how much do you trust crypto right now? 1 = 'Absolute scam, I want nothing to do with it' 5 = 'I see the potential but I'm still scared' 10 = 'I use it daily and it's changed my finances' Drop your number below + one sentence explaining why. No judgment. This is how I figure out what to teach next. I'll reply to every comment personally.

I almost got scammed. Here's what saved me. I'm going to tell you something I've never shared publicly. Two years ago, someone approached me with an 'opportunity.' They had a great story. Great references. Even showed me 'proof of returns.' Something felt off. I couldn't explain it. I did one extra check: I called one of their 'references' directly. The number didn't exist. That 'opportunity' turned out to be a sophisticated Ponzi scheme. 11 people I know lost a combined ₦8M. I was 10 minutes away from sending ₦2M. Lesson: always call references. Never just check screenshots. Always verify. Even when it feels awkward. Share this with someone before they get burned.

Not all P2P/OTC traders are equal. Here's how to tell the trustworthy ones from the fraudsters: Green flags: → Active online presence for 6+ months → Public transaction proofs (with client permission) → References you can actually call → Clear, posted rates — no surprise charges → Escrow or staged payment options for large amounts → Responsive — answers questions without pressure Red flags: → 'Special rate' only available today → No online history before this month → Gets defensive when you ask for references → Wants full payment before sending anything → Pressures you to decide fast The right trader will WELCOME your due diligence.

My weekly crypto routine. Step by step. People ask me how I personally manage crypto. Here's my actual weekly routine: Monday: → Check my watchlist for asset I trade using leverage and those I DCA into for the bull season → Check USDT/naira OTC rate → Note if it's a good week to convert or hold → Use my AI assitant to get ideas (though i do this daily) Wednesday: → Review any pending and completed trades and requests from my network → Update my transaction log Friday: → Convert any earned USDT I don't need to save → Check that my wallet balances match my records Monthly: → Review: how much did I save in dollar terms vs naira? → Adjust what % to keep in USDT vs naira This takes me under 4 hours per week. But it's saved me millions in poor timing and bad rates. Would you want me to create a template for this?

CBN and Crypto: What you need to know. Everyone's scared of the CBN and crypto. Let me give you the actual picture: What's true: → CBN restricted banks from serving crypto exchanges in 2021 → That restriction was softened in 2023 → Nigeria's SEC now has a licensing framework for crypto → Holding and using crypto personally is NOT illegal What's myth: → 'They will arrest you for using crypto' — false → 'All crypto is banned' — false → 'Your account will be frozen for any crypto activity' — not automatic The safest approach: → Use peer-to-peer and OTC (not exchange bank transfers) → Keep amounts reasonable → Work with verified, trusted traders Regulation is evolving. Not disappearing.

Client story: ₦0 to receiving $3k/month. A graphic designer in Lagos came to me 3 months ago. She was doing $3,000/month of work for international clients. She was receiving maybe $2,700 or less after fees, delays, and rejected transfers. Here's what we changed in 48 hours: 1. Set up a USDT wallet 2. Instructed clients to pay in USDT 3. Connected her to a verified P2P Merchant for naira conversion 4. Set up a simple dollar savings buffer for slow months Today she receives the full $3,000. Converts what she needs. Saves the rest in USDT. That's $300+/month she was leaving on the table. $3,600+ per year. Your payment system is costing you more than you think.

Stop The Confusion. BTC vs USDT vs ALTS Crypto is not one thing. It's a category. Let me break it down simply: Bitcoin (BTC): → Digital gold → Scarce, valuable long-term → Volatile short-term → For storing value over years USDT / USDC: → Digital dollars → Always worth $1 → For payments, savings, transfers → START HERE as a Nigerian Altcoins (ETH, BNB, etc.): → Everything else → Higher risk, higher reward potential → Only after you understand the basics Most Nigerians should start with USDT. Not because it's exciting. Because it's useful. Save this as your crypto cheat sheet.

Before I recommend any OTC trader or transact with someone new, here's my exact checklist: 1. Do they have verifiable transaction history? (screenshots, references) 2. Are they in a trusted community with accountability? 3. Have I spoken to 2+ people they've traded with? 4. Do they have a consistent online presence (6+ months)? 5. Do they operate transparently rates posted publicly? 6. Have they ever had a dispute? How was it resolved? If someone can't pass this checklist: I don't trade with them. Print this. Use it. It could save you ₦millions. What would you add to this list?

In my previous post, I asked: naira or USDT? Here's the math: Scenario A: ₦500,000 in naira savings account → 4% interest = ₦520,000 after 1 year → But naira lost ~40% vs dollar in that year → Real value: ~$312 (down from ~$600) Scenario B: ₦500,000 converted to USDT → 0% interest → But USDT held its dollar value → Real value: ~$600 (unchanged) Naira savings: lost 48% in real value. USDT savings: held value completely. This is why smart Nigerians are moving to stablecoins. Not for profit. For protection. But exchanges like Bybit can give you up to 8% is stablecoin so go try it out 🔥𝗦𝗜𝗚𝗡 𝗨𝗣 𝗢𝗡 𝗕𝗬𝗕𝗜𝗧: 👉🏿 partner.bybitglobal.com/b/digital

Simple question: If you earned ₦500,000 today and could save it as: A) Naira in a bank account (earning 4% interest) B) USDT in a crypto wallet (earning 0% interest) Which protects your money more over 12 months? The naira lost 60%+ of its value in the last 2 years. 4% interest doesn't cover that. Answer below. I'll share the math next.

Dollar savings account. No bank needed. You don't need a domiciliary account to save in dollars. Here's how ordinary Nigerians are doing it: Step 1: Download a crypto wallet (Trust Wallet or Coinbase Wallet) but if you can't keep your keys safe use CEX Step 2: Buy USDC or USDT via a trusted OTC desk or P2P Step 3: Your naira is now in digital dollars Step 4: Convert back to naira whenever you need Your savings: protected from devaluation. Your money: accessible 24/7. Your bank: not involved. This isn't speculation. It's financial protection. Have you tried this? Would you? Comment below.
