Clickbait has saturated the market. Cheap drive-by discourse is a dime a dozen. People are weary of autoplay nonsense and being yelled at by the Internet. That stock is falling. What stock is rising? Thoughtfulness. Paragraphs. Fresh insight. Very soon attention farming will be seen the way ad banks are today. I truly believe this.

Insane that for four years, the intelligence community in this country believed women like my wife were terroristic threats, and that men who believe they are women were safe and trustworthy.

/1🚨EXPOSED — Biden CIA’s War on Motherhood: Newly released CIA documents reveal the Biden Administration identified “motherhood” and “homemaking” as indicators of “white racially and ethnically motivated violent extremism” (REMVE).

Hartmut Rosa's work on resonance (basically mental/emotional flourishing) and control is the most essential insight about modern life that most Christians are not talking about.

I don't have a take on pastors and sabbaticals. Instead I'll just say this again: The "based right" is a deconstruction movement that shares much in common with the exvangelical movement, including/especially a unmistakeable contempt toward pastors.

@Digitalliturgy Also, even the agreeableness is a rubber mask that can melt away in abrupt and very unpleasant fashion.

Every parent knows that agreeable children can use their agreeableness to their advantage. They can lie, disobey, and hurt their siblings, and get away with it by being agreeable. I'm sure David knows this. But too often it feels like he has slipped away into a moral universe where the one and only thing that matters is Donald Trump. Way too many columns try to shrink reality down Trump-size. Decency and ideology are not the same thing, true. But agreeableness and decency are not the same thing either. And morality is not a simple question of how unlike Donald Trump you are. I sincerely wish more of David's writing felt like a search for truth, rather than a determination to just get as far away as possible from one man.

If the primary American divide is between right and left, then Talarico isn’t that interesting. There’s a long history of progressive religious activism in the United States, just as there is a long history of conservative religious activism. Yet if the primary American divide is between decent and indecent, then the equation changes. Talarico shines. nytimes.com/2026/03/08/opi…

90% of health content on social media is 1) you are in nightmarish health 2) this explains all the bad things in your life 3) there is nothing you can do about this because modernity 4) your only chance is to buy this bespoke medication and use my discount code

@aaron_renn I sincerely believe in many cases this is resentment of women secondary to severe porn addiction. The line between the addiction and the women in the images has blurred, so these men come to blame women for their self loathing

The Harry Potter series is an example of great conservative art.

@jaredcwilson @TheAlanNoble I made the mistake of writing this word in my book. When it came time to narrate the audiobook, I had to change the word because I kept making it sound like a slur

@Tysingerlaw Unless this has changed the subscription is an option. The alternative is to purchase the software license outright, correct? This is what I did

@Digitalliturgy First of all, it sucks. It’s bloated and has never been better than wordPerfect. Second of all, it’s a freaking subscription now. You can make a lot of arguments against it, but that it’s cheap compared to boutique alternatives is not one.
