We were awful tbf. Didn’t do much with our possession in the first half, let Bosnia get in our heads with the shin kicking. Started second half a bit better, got the goal then sat back and let Bosnia hammer us. Squad is poor when u go beyond like 12 players. We’d have just got knocked out in the groups again anyway so not bothered. Glad to be half English so I still have a stake 😂

Microsoft's default setting in GitHub Copilot is to use your data to train their AI and you can disable that on GitHub Copilot Settings.

Manchester United set to make a formal complaint today to PGMOL after the failure to award a second penalty in last night’s draw with Bournemouth. Club will argue Amad was clearly wrestled to ground with no attempt to play the ball. Manchester United are angry at what they perceive to be a clear VAR error. It is also noted similar penalty incidents were treated differently in the same game leading to Harry Maguire being sent off. #MUFC also unhappy with nine minutes of added time being played in the game.

@trikcode I wish that was true. The time spent working hasn’t changed (if anything it’s increased), the expected output from that time has. And when non-tech people believe everything they read the demand on engineers to reach an unattainable velocity, is crippling.

Software engineers are the happiest people on Earth now. They pay $100/month for Claude Code to do the work. Their employer pays them $10,000/month for the results. $9,900 profit for sipping coffee and talking to AI. The funniest part? Not a single dev with a full-time job will ever admit this publicly What a time to be alive.

AI should only help facilitate your learning. Never ask it to do something 100% for you that you are already capable of doing yourself. When you don't understand something, then you interrogate the AI as an opportunity to learn. You can be dependent on AI to teach you and improve yourself, you can't be dependent on AI to produce for you and achieve the same result... you will depreciate. I speculated and made this a while ago HOWEVER its being backed up more and more through social observation and peoples first-hand accounts and research studies.

I feel like I’m 17 again trying to decide what to study at University. The sheer amount of decisions and possible paths with AI is overwhelming. Are other engineers feeling this? 🫠

It's not 'could' - Bruno Fernandes should win Premier League Player of the Year. Best Player, Most Valuable Player, however you frame it, it points his way. Look at the history, the award has become flawed. Sir Alex had just SIX winners from 13 titles. In recent years, it's become a handout to the Champions' best player. These awards should reward excellence, not be a tokenistic notion. Statistically he is so far ahead of his peers, it is the year to correct course on what it means. 28 games into the Premier League season, if the distance is this big how can another player dethrone him with 10 games to go?

Joāo Gomes is an interesting thought as a lower cost option, with Manuel Ugarte clearly heading for the exit at Manchester United. Tenacious, can carry & pass well, can play #6 & #8, he is only 25 so room to improve & has PL experience. Not as shiny as other new toys, but still.

I gave an agent access to my models + live market data this weekend. Currently it's +41.2u. It logs it's picks and settles them on event end. Interested to see how this performs over a few thousand picks.
