Thank you @azajm1974 for collecting #MLBDraft data for the second year in a row! 46 players from our prep leaderboards were selected this year. 39 of them earned a BaGS+, with a 166 average. 34 of them earned a DIGS+, also with a 166 average.

@azajm1974 Looking at just the day 1 picks (rounds 1-4), there were 20 players who appeared on the prep leaderboards this year. Those 20 earned a combined 166 BaGS+, 184 DIGS+, and a whopping 222 TWP+. Two-way stars are still highly coveted!

@azajm1974 Last year, it was 35 prep players earning a 173 BaGS+, and 26 pitchers earning a 163 DIGS+. So, hitters scored better in last year's class, while pitchers were slightly better this year (and more were taken).

I hope the Ethan Lay draft day success story is one players learn from. Love for the game, Great game awareness. Strike throwing ability and moxy. Saw as a HS Pitcher, pitching 85-86 changing speeds getting people out. Now a 6th rd choice. Living his dream. @EricLay73 WILL!!!

When I was a kid, the Twins drafted Kyle Lohse (Hamilton City native), which was the coolest thing ever to me. I wrote him a letter & got back signed cards & a handwritten note from his wife. Now, Ethan Lay will inspire other kids from NorCal small towns!

As far as I am aware, Peyton Bonds will become the 4th(!) Bonds to play for the Giants organization. Two of the others are obvious in Barry Bonds and the late Bobby Bonds. Bobby Bonds Jr. also played for the organization in the late 1990's.

Here are the top undrafted players on the NCAA D1 BaGS & DIGS leaderboards (age 21 & 22). I've compiled some draft demographics from the past 5 seasons, using these leaderboards. Majority of hitters going today will average 130-150 BaGS+; Pitchers will be 115-130 DIGS+.
