It’s looking like a good foundation for an enormous trove of untapped supernovae. I’m really looking forward to seeing what science can come out of this!

They also make the largest ever cross validation of light curves of the *same* supernova coincidentally observed by different telescopes. The find excellent agreement with the upcoming DEBASS DR1 which is really promising!

Now that this seems to be the time of cosmological tensions, I keep seeing a similar `recipe' to make datasets look less `tension-y.' Here’s a new SN paper on H₀ as a recent example - arxiv.org/pdf/2511.14332 “On the impact of the supernova subsamples in reducing the Hubble tension”. A thread.
