@dmacpher Well, I think their criminal justice agenda is carefully designed to co-opt the CPC. Conservative always own the crime issue and it became a somewhat big deal in the 2025 election. To counter it, the Liberals have moved to a “tougher on crime” to mitigate CPC gains there.

Today, the Liberals voted down four Conservative justice bills. Every single one of these bills had a straightforward purpose: protect Canadians and respect victims. The Liberals said no to all of them. ❌ Consecutive sentences for sexual predators ❌ Deportation for serious crimes ❌ Ending annual parole hearings for murderers ❌ Jail Not Bail Act Violent crime is up 55% under the Liberals. This is their answer.

The greatest reduction in crime this country has seen was the Youth Criminal Justice Act under the Chretien government, which was not punitive in its nature. Crime is overwhelmingly committed by young men and there’s a statistical aging-out phenomenon of crime.

These amendments are possibly unconstitutional and they all lack any evidence that supports a reduction in crime. We have a massive issue of people being deprived of their liberty as they wait long periods to have a trial. Nobody ever talks about the remand issue.

@LGM_NYR @Ryan_Miller90 @FightingIrish Revenue sharing cap creates financial restraints on all the other sports, and I’m not sure ND is willing (or even can for basketball) to go the shady “arm’s length” NIL in hopes it passes the clearinghouse. It’s a football school and they have to fund all the other sports.

All other conference affiliated sports would have to go to the Ivy with it and I can’t see that happening in today’s world. Revenue sharing cap is detrimental to ND’s mbb. FB reigns supreme.
