Morocco 🇲🇦 has withdrawn as host of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), just 60 days before the tournament begins on March 17. The decision follows fallout from the chaotic 2025 men’s AFCON final. Morocco had hosted WAFCON in 2022 and 2024 and was set to host it again in 2026, becoming the first nation to do so three times in a row. After CAF’s intervention, South Africa 🇿🇦 will now host the tournament from March 17 to April 3. The event also qualifies teams for the 2027 Women’s World Cup.
