Today is my birthday! It’s also where I officially mark the halfway point of my year, and the start of a new chapter. In the last 6 months, I lost my mom. I lost one of my dogs. I recently moved across the country. A lot has happened- but I’m still here, with hope for the future!

In May 2024, my mom held both of my hands so tightly and looked me in the eyes as she told me that she had lung cancer. Last night, I held her cold hand so tightly in both of my own before they removed her from our home. It was so sudden, a ticking time bomb. Then she was gone.
